My fiancé & I had to get away for the weekend due to Hurricane Sandy, we had no power. Bensalem was the closest city with availability, about a hour from our home. Came across Inn of the Dove & after looking at the suites, it reminded me very much of Caesar's Pocono Resorts without the extras; meals & entertainment.
The Check-in was disconcerting at first, after going through the front door there was an alcove with a window & pass through slot. Continued through the 2nd door to the Check-in desk. I had a coupon from TripAdviser for $10 off plus a fireplace log, very nice! We also received a bottle of champagne!
Got to the room, very nice layout, round king size bed, fireplace, Jacuzzi tub, sound system with ipod dock, Flat screen TV on wall, Fridge, sink & Microwave in a kitchen area. Bathroom was large; shower area was the size of a walk-in closet with 2 separate shower heads! Don't know why you would need 2 showers but I guess the second is a back-up!
I always appreciate towels in abundance, there were 3 Bath towels, 2 placed by the Jacuzzi, one in the bathroom & 2 washcloths which were placed oddly on the table by the fireplace. No hand towels were provided. We stayed 2 nights, the next night I asked for extra towels & we received them.
The TV had 3 - 4 Adult TV channels, some were sporadic but it was nice to watch 24/7 without having to pay for an adult movie as in most Hotels!
The room was very clean, the comforter on the bed could have been a bit plusher but all in all, a very pleasant romantic stay.
However, at $300/night, it's a bit pricey.
Bensalem is a nice town with the Casino, we never got there, plenty of restaurants & fast food to choose from & a good variety of shopping, K-Mart, CVS, Kohls plus a mall is only one exit away.
I'd recommend but the management needs to reevaluate their pricing.

We would first like to thank this guest for their positive reviews. We would like to inform that the Suite which guest had is one of our Theme suites. The prices of those rooms are around $300 in weekends due to the special amenities like round bed and canapé at the top. The decor of the suite is also elegant from other suites. The people love 2 shower head and each one is designed with 3 different spray settings for massage.

Thank you
Raj

After a long day traveling interstate was looking forward to a relaxing soak in jacuzzi and a good night rest (with a little romance) before hitting the road again. The linens were clean, the decor was dated but adequate. The location was convenient. We discovered the only available outlet was in the bathroom- not very convenient for todays modern traveler with phones, laptops, computers. The most disappointing was that in order to plug the drain in the jacuzzi I had to step inside of the tub only to discover a scum ring and residual pubic hair. Not quite what we expected for one of the most romantic inns in the country. Our calls to the front desk to complain were met with an apology but no resolution. We do not recommend. The place has great potential but needs work in management and updating.
