My wife and I go to New Hope Pa. every year for our anniversary. This year I decided to look for a change. I saw a list on Trip Advisor of the Top Romantic Hotels, and saw that the Inn of the Dove was listed at number 3 and read many glowing reviews, including many people who claimed to have celebrated their anniversaries there. Being it was only about 25 minutes from New Hope I made a reservation for the weekend. Upon arrival we were shocked to find that the Inn was located in the rear of a Hooters parking lot. Upon entering we found that they sold cheap lotions and oils at the front desk, and offered rooms for short stay (hourly rates). Hardly, any normal adults idea of romance.Since it was late, we cancelled our 2nd and third nights. In order to spend the one night, we went to a nearby Wal-Mart and bought a sheet set so we could sleep without fear of infestation. I have to believe that the reviews on Trip Advisor are bogus. Nobody could find this romantic. This type of Inn is only useful to young people living at home with their parents that need a place for sex, or those cheating on their spouses. If this is not you, avoid it at all costs.
