Owner description: Old Bedford Village is a living history museum located in historic Bedford, Pennsylvania. We have nearly 40 structures including authentic 18th and 19th century buildings, moved from original locations throughout our region, representing trade shops and residences. The Village also includes some present-day construction designed to replicate the buildings found in a 18th - 19th century Village. Visit the general store, apothecary, jail, blacksmith, tinsmith, candlemaking and woodworking shops, and much more! Special events are scheduled throughout the season, including living history encampments, Murder Mystery Evenings, and Candlelit Christmas. PLEASE NOTE: OLD BEDFORD VILLAGE IS OPEN DAILY EXCEPT FOR WEDNESDAYS FROM MEMORIAL DAY - LABOR DAY, AND THURSDAY - SUNDAY FROM LABOR DAY - OCTOBER 31. WE ARE ALSO OPEN THE FIRST TWO SATURDAYS OF DECEMBER FROM 5 PM - 9 PM FOR OUR CANDLELIT CHRISTMAS EVENT. I liked seeing the old buildings and the artifacts in them, and talking to the volunteers who did everything from presenting how past crafts people worked to running the gift shop in the visitor center. Everyone was friendly and there was a lot to learn, and having historical special events was just that more special. I was at a reenactment, and had a grand old time.

Cool place when it's in full force. Half the time it is lame. Nice little place to walk around and get a feel for historic US life. Best on hollidays.

Rustic representation of an early American villiage. Will never go back. Horses broke loose and chased patrons around grounds. No appologies from staff.

We enjoyed our time at the Bedford Village. There were docents dressed in period costumes and they were happy to tell you about craft, such as the blacksmith. There were more historic buildings there than we thought. We spend a good portion of the day there, self-touring each of the buildings. There is also a bakery there to purchase a snack as well a sandwiches. Make sure to check out the jail (or called 'gaul'), it was a very interesting building to tour as it also served as a historic restroom back in the day. The buildings were set up like a little village and the scenery was very pleasant. It was like a mini Colonial Williamsburg and well worth the trip.

we love all things history so we enjoyed strolling all of the buildings that are original (moved to site) and very old and representative of life in the '1800s with costumed knowledgable docents with a wealth of knowledge. You can spend several hours here so allow enough time
