My wife and I were traveling through the area and asked locals about food choices. Ed's was suggested and we went that night. Good old time steakhouse atmosphere...solid menu...reasonable prices. Overall it was just what we were looking for that night....so we went back the next night and ordered different items and still came away impressed and very full.

Very busy place and may not have been used to large crowds, but did OK. College football game crowd and Flt 93 dedication crowd in Bedford the weekend. Good choices, servcie, food good and reasonable.

Stopped here on the way to Phily and the hotel said this was a good spot. Wow, were they wrong. The food was reaching for average, the service was terrible, and they even began cleaning and resetting the dining room before we were through eating. I ordered a vodka shaken with two olives and got vodka rocks with no olive. A single tiny olive was brought out later. A loaf of white puffy bread was served with no butter and it was definitely not worth eating. I could go through all the food issues but it's just not worth it.
Maybe they just know their market and we just expected too much for Bedford, PA.

You know the line, 'the only game in town', well this is it.
I travel over 100 nights a year on business and know good food.
This was not it.
Bar server Doris was friendly and kept busy with crowd.
Ordered the Roast Turkey Dinner w. Homeade stuffing.
Stuffing was gravy over plain croutons. No effort to add anything of taste.
French Onion soup very plain,
Local place that is from the 1950's but hey, you are in Bedfdord.

The restaurant at our motel was closed, so we walked up the street to Ed's. Talk about time travel. It had the look and feel of a 70s steakhouse, but that was the charm. The food was above par (the prime rib was excellent), and so was my manhattan. Service was good, even on a very busy Saturday night. Unique touch -- the dining chairs were all on wheels, and it certainly helped the staff re-set areas of the room when parties of varying sizes came in. Smart! It was one of the top two restaurants on our trip to from Toronto to Virginia Beach.
