The bridges make a good excuse to drive some of the most scenic byways of Laurel Highlands. There's no need to see all the bridges, just pick a few and get out there. The ones farther afield will have you driving through really lovely countryside. Maps of those near Bedford are available at Old Bedford Village and at tourist information offices. The online webpage doesn't print out enough detail to be of much use. Be sure to take a GPS device with you.

A nice ride around the more remote areas through big farms and small hollows. It let me look at the technology of the bridges and the variability of the ridges and valleys.

We did all 14 covered bridges even though it took us 7 hours to complete it as well as Gravity Hill which was a blast and added to the day. We love Covered Bridges so this was an amazing day for me. We took pictures at every one of them. The scenery was amazing and the streams that ran underneath most of the bridges we great also. This was a very photogenic day. We used the covered bridge brochure we found at Clara's Restaurant. Having a GPS was helpful so that all we had to do was enter the coordinates and take off. We almost didnt do all of them and are so glad we finished to the last 14 bridge as it was even better than some of the others.

We did the whole covered bridge tour including Gravity Hill. Very interesting and amazing when you think of the age the bridges were built. Loved the scenery and streams running under most of the bridges. We used the Bedford County travel guide, which gave excellent driving instructions.

The travel guide put out by Bedford County was excellent in giving directions to all of the covered bridges. Visiting Gravity Hill was one of the many highlights.
