“A 250 year old tavern”
Reviewed January 23, 2013

Dine where George Washington was to organize putting down of the Whiskey Rebellion in the 1700's. The food is good, but the tavern is the star.

“Super atmosphere and food!”
Reviewed January 13, 2013

We loved it. Service was friendly and prompt. Our meals were large portioned and delicious. Great wood burning fire smell in a super old historic building. It feels great in there.

“Excellent Food and Atmosphere”
Reviewed January 2, 2013

We arrived on a Sunday midday and had a great meal. Service was a little poor towards the end of our meal. Definitely would recommend and will be returning.

“A warm and tasty evening”
Reviewed January 1, 2013

On a cold and snowy December evening, Jean Bonnet was an excellent choice for dinner. Our group of four had a table downstairs next to the open fireplace and the atmosphere of this historic tavern couldn't be beat! Our waitress Lauren was delightful and efficient. We chose to have soups, burgers and french-dip roast beef with hand-cut french fries. Everything was very tasty and cooked to our request. We'll be sure to stop-by again as we travel the PTP!

So glad you were pleased with your experience. Seated near a wood fire, in a 250 year old tavern, on a cold winter day is tough to beat!

“Nice Lunch Spot”
Reviewed December 30, 2012

We recently stopped at the Tavern for lunch on our way to Bedford. I'd read the reviews and thought I'd like to see this historic tavern. The food for lunch was good, but a rather typical menu of hamburgers, chicken sandwiches, and salads. The restaurant was clean and the bar area had a wonderful fireplace that had not been converted to gas. That was a nice touch.

The only surprise was how far off the PA turnpike it really is. It looks like it is right beside it but it was actually a 5 or 10 minute drive after you exit. We found it easily but just a little further than I thought.

Yes, I'd rcommend the restaurant and the prices were reasonable as well.
