“Will Not Be Returning”
Reviewed July 31, 2011

We just came back from our weekend trip to Camel beach park in Tannersville, PA and stayed about 15 mins away at HOJO. It was a last minute trip and all other hotels that were in our price range were already booked, that in itself should've been a clue. The lobby is nice but small. We arrived about 11pm and check in was quick. The lady at the front desk was very friendly however she looked completely disheveled so it was not a good first impression. The hotel does have a musky smell but our room on the second floor did not. The room was spacious and equipped with an ironing board, iron, microwave and mini-fridge. We checked for bedbugs and there were none. The beds were comfy but the pillows were definitely flat and needs to be replaced. The room in general needed updating. The carpets are old and dingy and while the room appeared clean It didn't have that freshly cleaned feeling. The bathroom counter was nice but the rest of it also needs updating. The water pressure in the shower was weak but not terrible and didn't bother us much. The worst part about the bathroom was that it was not cleaned properly and we found someone else's hair on the walls of the shower when we first arrived. Needless to say I cleaned the tub myself.
The pool was nice but the room was very warm almost to hot to stay in there. The game room has about 5 games in it and a vending machine. The fitness center had one treadmill, one elliptical, one weight set, a TV and water fountain. The restaurant was very good for breakfast. It has a large variety of breakfast foods and the prices were very good. Only problem was the orange juice, it had a very weird and nasty taste so we sent that back. We noticed the table next to use had left theirs completely untouched. It has a good location. Theres a shopping center with a Chili's and Red Robin across the street and a Giant supermarket down the road.

We usually stay at budget hotels and we're not picky people but even my husband said we would never stay there again.

was looking for a place to stay with the kids for a couple of nights, with a pool, to beat the heat. This was a typical, roadside motel, no frills. Had an indoor pool for the kids and it was fine - clean and surprisingly refreshing for an indoor pool.
Hotel has 2 floors, no elevators.
Room had a mini-fridge which is always a plus. Plenty of nearby restaurants, stores, etc. The hotel restaurant, Serengiti, was good for dinner and priced well. Breakfast was pretty cheap, not great but edible.

My family and I had an OK stay. The staff was nice but the hotel was a bit stinky and the hallways were hot The outside door B didn't work by our room. At one point I was outside with several other guests trying to get inside. The next morning I couldn't get it to work and to walk to main entrance--annoying. Our room was OK. Pool was nice but some guests were smoking inside pool area--rude!! We stayed for breakfast, although the waiter was nice, the food was ok.

This hotel has very poor cleaning service. There were not enough towels in the room. I don't know why they advertise somking and non- smoking rooms because the whole building smells like cigarretts. The outside of the building needs care. There are a lot of weeds in the back entrance of the hotel. Also there a few abandoned cars in the parking lot. Overall it needs a lot of improvement.

My Mom and I stayed here overnite on a fun trip thru the Poconos in June 2011. Overall the motel room (2 dbl beds, frig and micro) was clean and comfortable; priced well for weekday nite. The beds were very firm; but the pillows - flat (I always prefer a rock-firm pillow). On the plus side, the toilet was high - Mom appreciated that (better for older folks). Some things were worn around the edges (rug in hallway); but the real need is for outdoor/landscaping to be cleaned (sweep the parking lot etc) and spruce up the grounds a bit. The restaurant food and service was good (dinner and breakfast) and priced about where you'd expect. We'll probaby return but hope that some outside work gets done... and the inside just does not go downhill.

We always use this hotel when we attend a week of union school in East Stroudsburg..Has an easy access to right off the Interstate. Staff is friendly and hotel rooms are always clean.
Never have to worry about bugs or anything dirty there..
It is a truley a relaxing place to stay

Room Tip: Non smoking rooms are to the front on the hotel.

My friends & i were in town for Warrior Dash PA 2011. This was close to one of the recommended hotels, and I'm glad we only had to stay one night! the rooms were dingy, the pillows completely flat, the beds were worn, uncomfortable, the bathrooms were tiny, the grounds were not well maintained, the hallways were annoying to navigat through and overall the place had a funk. Our rate for 4 people was about $145. The price was a joke for the quality of stay we had to endure. There was a Kohls & a chillis across the street to escape the grime, though.
