The hotel is located right on the ocean. Amazing views right from your room. The bathtubs overlook the ocean. The room was very comfortable and huge. This would be a great place for an extended stay. We unfortunatly were there for only 1 night. The breakfast the next morning was lovely. Although the hotel doesn't have a restaurant on site, they have a pantry with wine, beer and snacks for purchase. The front desk is super helpful in making recommendation and reservation for dinner. Great place!!

Room Tip: Try room 301 is wonderful. It is in the corner, quiet and private.

We hope you will be able to visit us again for an extended stay. It sounds like you enjoyed one of our Restless Waters rooms. Restless Waters rooms, along with our upper floor Sunset Suites, have marvelous oceanfront views from the Jacuzzi’s. We are very happy you enjoyed the view and the room.

Great property, great room. We had only booked one night but were having such a good time, the next morning we extended our stay another night. I would recommend to anyone.

Room Tip: It appears that all rooms are good. We had a balcony and good view of the ocean.

Well, I wish it was a secret, but I'm afraid it's out. The Overleaf Lodge is truly a jewel on the Oregon coast! We stay there most every year, and won't stay anywhere else in on the coast.

From the beautiful sculpted rock beaches, to the excellent rooms and architecture, to the warm, friendly staff, it is the most relaxing coastal vacation you could wish for. Forget the busy tourist areas up north, and enjoy the unspoiled coastline during the day and indulge the stunning sunset views in the evening.

Oh, and don't forget to go to Luna Sea Fish House for lunch every day! Capt Rob personally brings in the freshest seafood via his own fishing boat, and he and the staff cook the best, most honest seafood lunch I've ever tasted. Also, don't leave there without several cans of the Alder Smoked Tuna! It's pure heaven!!

Yachats is our favorite Oregon coast town, and Overleaf Lodge is where we always stay. We go there several times a year. The Lodge rooms are attractive, comfortable and well designed; we have only stayed in the newer wing, so I cannot comment on the older rooms, but everything is well run and well cared for on the property. All rooms have views of the dramatic rocky coast. The rooms we have stayed in are very spacious and full of light, have cheery gas fireplaces, balconies, refrigerator, microwave, a table for dining, and great chairs for sitting and reading by the fireplace. Breakfast is included in the room rate and always features lots of fresh fruit, baked goods, and egg dishes. Walking on the 804 trail and exploring the rocks and the tide pools is endlessly interesting and fun.

This lodge is a gem along the Oregon coast! All of the rooms have ocean views and are nicely appointed with Aveda toiletries. We have stayed there twice and had a king bed with fireplace and balcony both times. Right outside the hotel is a coastal pathway to walk along and look at the crashing waves. Breakfast is included and there is a great spa and a fitness room. There are lots of places in the lodge to sit and read or relax. The spa on the third floor, has wonderful treatments and there is a soaking pool, about 99 degrees, that has a huge window that looks out to the ocean. They even loaned us some binoculars while we were in the pool so we could look for whales. I appreciate that the spa was adults only. We loved our stay and will definitely return.

Room Tip: All the rooms have ocean views. The first floor has walk outs to the trail, and the second and thir...

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience as our guest. The Inglenook room you stayed in is one of our most popular rooms for couples. If you want privacy while whale watching from a Jacuzzi, a Restless Waters room would be perfect for a luxurious change of pace. Whatever room you choose, we do hope you will experience the Overleaf Lodge & Spa as an “awesome retreat”.

We were enchanted with the Overleaf Lodge from the moment we pulled off the highway and saw the adorable cottages. The main lodge was lovely, too, with beautiful landscaping (very coastal in feel) and an inviting lobby. Our room in the lodge was absolutely splendid! We choose the Inglenook and it was large, inviting, comfortable and tastefully decorated. I think that it was nicer than the website photos portray. But, oh my, the views!!! They were spectacular!!! I let out an audible cry of delight when we stepped onto the balcony. The Overleaf sits right along a coastal trail, overlooking rocks and the coast. You have amazing unobstructed views and can watch the seabirds and whales (if you are lucky; we were absolutely astounded and delighted by how many whales we saw both in the evening and the following morning!) The promise of seeing more was probably the only thing that could lure us out of our comfy haven of a bedroom. The walk along the coastal trail is just gorgeous. The footpath is fairly level until you get to the end (walking along from the right as you exit the hotel) where there is a rather steep little downhill to the sandy beach (if you do not have mobility problems, you should be okay here as there is a sturdy rope to hold on to). We saw gray whales, seals, and many birds. The breakfast provided in the morning is definitely a step above most serve-yourself buffets. The homemade granola, assortment of jams, and delicious fresh fruit bowl were excellent. They even had gluten-free options. Since I am vegan, I did not partake of the eggs and ham, but both seemed well received by those guests eating it. As we only stayed one night (regretfully!) we did not get to enjoy the spa services, but the views from the spa are also amazing, as are the views from the work-out room. I cannot recommend Overleaf enough! We wished we could spend many nights there. Admittedly, there is not a whole lot to do in Yachats, but you are only about a half hour drive from Newport and in the future we would prefer to make the drive back and forth and stay at Overleaf rather than stay in Newport (where our lodgings were less satisfactory). And if you are looking for a quiet, restorative retreat, I don’t think you could do better than Overleaf. It’s the kind of place that invites relaxation and reflection as well as appreciation of nature. Five stars plus! One of our favorite places, ever.

Incidentally, if you are looking for vegan or gluten-free food in town, we suggest the Historic Drift Inn. The food was tasty if a bit bland (we had the curry) but nice to find vegan and gluten-free especially in such a small town. In Newport, we enjoyed Savory Cafe.

Room Tip: Top floor has wonderful views and as a bonus you don't have anyone walking above you.
