“Perfect spot on the Oregon Coast”
Reviewed July 31, 2012

Deane's is a great old-style motel on the coast. There's an incredible beach just across your "backyard" and much to do in the area (don't miss Seal Rock, Cape Perpetua, etc). The staff is friendly and will point you in the right direction for supplies, activities, meals, or whatever you need. The rooms are simple and IMHO, just what we needed - you should be out exploring the beach and the woods, not sitting in your room (we never turned on our TV once)! If you are looking for luxury, this is not your spot. If you are looking for a good, clean, affordable room in the midst of some of the best the Oregon coast has to offer - this is your place.

Room Tip: All rooms are ocean view/front (although rooms with a higher number may have a slightly better view...

Thank you so much for your nice review! We're so glad that you appreciate what we have to offer at Deane's. Like you say, we're not fancy and we strive to deliver a unique experience on the nicest stretch of beach on the Central Oregon Coast.

Regards,
Glen, Katherine and the entire staff

We stayed at Deane's Oceanfront Lodge for our wedding anniversary. We loved it so much, we want to come back every year. Our room was toasty warm when we arrived on check in day. It was also clean, tidy and had everything we needed. The view was great, we could see the ocean from our bed. The staff was friendly and informative. If we were to change anything, it might be the small size of the TV. But that wasn't really all that important. We would recommend Deane's to anyone who wants an affordable ocean view room.

We were lucky enough to get a last minute reservation here by finding an ad on Craigslist. We arrived after hours and Cherie the night manager was so accommodating and helpful. The owners are super nice people too. They provided us with a flashlight and a phone charger and have a variety of other useful items in case you forget yours.
This lodge was built in 1947 and is very charming. The glass block bathrooms are unique and beautiful. My understanding is that these are fairly new owners and they are working on upgrading all of the units. The beach is very close and not crowded.
We will definitely stay here again!

I love this lodge! My title says it all, except that my dog loves it, too. He was welcomed with a bag of goodies just for him (including a sheet to cover the bed so he could sleep with me there, just like at home) and a long, nearly empty, beach was just steps from the back door of our room for his running pleasure. My dog and I will be back! LAMB

My husband and I took our 3 grandchildren to the Oregon coast and we spent 2 nights at Deane's Lodge. Our room was very comfortable/cozy - we stayed in a suite and the kids had their own room to sleep in. We spent lots of time on the beach - it was beautiful and very easy to watch the kids because we could sit up so close to the water. We enjoyed the barbecue on the patio (with a view of the ocean). We had an evening bonfire in the fire pit (one very gracious staff member helped us get our fire going). Our room had a fireplace which was really nice as the temperature dropped. The room heaters are excellent also. The kids played with some of their board games, and watched movies available at the front desk. We had a wonderful, relaxing dinner at an Italian restaurant in town. We also had wonderful clam chowder at the "Luna Sea" restaurant. The beds were very comfortable and the rooms were clean (and we are picky). We loved the bathroom and the beautiful glass window - we all took a soak. Went to the amazing sea lion cave very close to the lodge. We hated to leave but will definitely return to gorgeous Yachats and Deane's Lodge!

Expect a nicely preserved 50s cabin. Small and quaint but totally cute. Access to a long stretch of wide beach. We saw whales! Service was fantastic. Friendly staff. Not a lot of amenities, but they take care of the basics well. We had internet, but cell service was minimal, which actually made it more of a retreat anyway. Id stay there again if we end up in Yachats.
