Once again I find myself at one of the most beautiful places on the coast , I keep coming back here because it makes me feel good. The rooms are always clean, the service always top of the line and the views are more spectacular each visit. The resort is well run and it shows. The housekeeping staff is great, they cleaned my room so well I thought I somehow got the wrong room on my second day when I got back from a trip to the city and that's the way it should be.
I would recommend this place to anyone wanting to witness the most beautiful, relaxing pacific coast.

We stayed in a 2nd floor ocean view room with two queens. The room was small, but the ocean was only a stone's throw away. Everything was nicely appointed, clean and classy. The room has a tiny table, micorwave, small refrigerator TV and DVD player. Outside our window is a rocky beach and a nice grassy area with a gravel path that runs along the beach for a couple of miles.

There is a nice pool area that inclues a hot tub and a good sized wading pool for the kiddies (ranging from 6" - 18" deep). There is also a whole separate wing for pets. Pets are never allowed in the main wing.

Even though the temperatures were in upper 60's while we were there, the room got warm enough to be uncomfortable at night. Their only cooling system consists of a window that opens and a fan that I found in the closet. That "soothing" sound of the beach can become annoying if you aren't used to it.

Some of our reletives stayed in a room with a "hillside" view on the back side of the hotel. The room looks out over the parking lot and a really lovely hillside across the highway. Their room was much bigger than ours and they paid almost half of what we paid. When we stay there again during nice weather, we'll choose that option and forgo the view as the beach and walking path is just around the corner. During the winter months, we'd pay extra for the view.

The hotel didn't offer a free breakfast, so we thought the price was a bit high. There is a restaurant down stairs where you can get a simple egg/ toast breakfast for about $8.00. Or favorite restaurant, The Drift Inn is a better choice, or bring your own cereal and fruit, like we do.

The beach right near the Adobe is pretty rocky with sometimes high and scary waves (a couple of teenagers got too far out on the rocks and were swept away last winter). During calmer times there are some nice tide pools and good agate hunting. There is a sandy beach within hiking or short driving distance, but we found it to be pretty windy. We fell in love with the beach at Seal Rock about 15 minutes north of Yachats. It is protected and not very windy (in fact, we couldn't even fly our little kite). Be sure to park at the Seal Rock Recreation Area. It has restrooms and a safe way to get down to the beach. There is a parking/viewing area a bit south of that, but it is difficult to get down to the beach from there.

Yachats is a sweet little town that has lots going on: theater, swing dancing twice a month, various festivals, a Saturday Market. However, not much shopping. You'll want to buy your gas and groceries in either Florence (to the south) or Newport (to the north).

As mentioned, our favorite restaurant is the Drift Inn. The food is good and the atmosphere can't be beat. They have live music most nights. Come early or be prepared to wait for a table.

Our favorite hotel in Yachats is the Overleaf, but it is too spendy for us during peak season. The Adobe is a good second choice. We got reservations 2 weeks in advance in August and it was the only hotel in town that still had rooms with queens. We'll go again and would recommend it!

Room Tip: Ocean view rooms are smaller and twice the price. During good weather consider the Hillside rooms a...

I stayed here because of the great reviews I saw here and now this place is going to get crowded and expensive.
Ocean view, two queens.......nice room, great staff....(I mean GREAT staff.......thanks Kathy for the extension cord........very cordial and couldn't wait to give added help).
I saw the complaints about breakfast, but that was not our stay......bacon was long strips, cooked perfectly, eggs.....as ordered.......pancakes.....as we like them and the waitress was prompt, friendly and professional.
For those that are concerned about how the food will be when you get it, I recommend you ask the waitress, in advance and then if it isn't like she says.......send it back.

Room Tip: Large, real wood paneling, 4x6' window with ocean view (level 2), beds okay. Clean

The Adobe Resort in Yachats was such an amazing find! It is on the central coast of Oregon north of Florence, Oregon. Yachats is situated right on the ocean. The Adobe Resort had a very nice staff at the hotel. Very friendly and welcoming. The rooms were very clean and spacious. The bathroom was a nice size and had good lighting and good counter space. Loved the "lazy boy" recliner in the rooms. We had a first floor room facing the ocean. A sliding door opens and we were steps away from the ocean. Rooms on the ocean side had a patio with plastic chairs over looking the water. The resort had a grass area all along the ocean side of the hotel. The grounds were spacious and many nice places to walk. The restaurant had a spectacular view that is open for all meals. The food was good. The service was excellent. This is an amazing place to stay. Not super fancy, but so comfortable and one can not beat the view!

This place is a bit out dated, at least in the pet area we stayed in. The great thing is that you can bring your pets & enjoy an ocean front motel. There is grass for you pet then a short walk to a rocky beach to watch the sunset. The ocean here is fierce & waves will crash up onto the lava rocks & make for good watching.
The room itself was okay. Nice view, bed was alright & the room seemed pretty spacious.
The restaurant they have on site is wonderful! I recommend the "Gingerbread" pancakes with apple sauce & sour cream. The seafood is top notch as well. Cute upstairs bar to watch the sun set & enjoy happy hour.

Room Tip: ask for ocean view

Upon arrival we were greeted kindly and checked in quickly. The check in desk is across from the gift shop so we did a quick walk through, it was pretty good.
Our room was facing the ocean which we like and the size was good as well.
The is a small indoor jacuzzi we used and were the only ones there.
There is also a pet wing where people with pets can rent rooms with their animals.
This is an old hotel so I was a bit worried it might be outdated but it was fine.
The location is perfect as it is next to a State park trail that goes along the beach for a good distance and is rather flat so easy, I loved it and walked it daily. The actual town of Yachats is small but there is a nice little library, a couple stores and the necessary ice cream and candy store where you can get good salt water taffy.
If you need a place to be on the 4th of July this is where you want to be.
They have the La De Dah parade which anyone and their dog can be in and best of all great fire works over the bay in the evening. Take a folding chair and leave it there after the parade and you will have your spot for the fireworks! (Just turn your chair around).
Best: is the closeness to the ocean and many State parks and trails within a short distance.
Least liked: morning weather at the coast can be overcast until 11 AM and then afternoons can be windy so take your wind breakers and hats!

Room Tip: Hotel is in a U shape, trail to the right side

My and my wife went for breakfast, I ordered eggs benedict with eggs very soft. They come out hard wit an disgusting cheese sauce? straight out of a ca, the hashbrowns potato were just thrown in the very small plate, my wife had an egg and bacon breakfast, nothin more simple to make tan that, again very small plate with everything thrown on it. Service was pretty nonexistentt. About me , I have worked in restaurant allover the world including cruise ships , I have been a Restaurant manager with a major Noth west company. My heart is crying to see such a great location to have such a disgustin attitude .
Needless to say we will never go back and we will inform our friends about the experience.
