Description: The Fox at Ellisfield is a free house country pub, offering residents and visitors alike an informal, comfortable experience, serving quality ales and wines and freshly cooked locally sourced food. There is a well tended pub garden and ample car parking.Tables are only laid when food is ordered, meaning that if all you want is to sit having a quiet drink, alone or with friends, then you can.

For the price of the food was expecting something more. My friend had the ploughmans, the ham had no flavour and the roll came out burnt. My gammon was quite small and felt hadn't got my money's worth as the jacket potato was mushy and quite grey. Service was incredibly slow for which they apologised, wouldn't rush to return which is a shame as I like rustic country pubs

ordered a bacon and Bree sandwich, chef had just popped out for 5 mins ( highly unusual ) but told the girl can cook it as its only a bacon sandwich. 10 mins later the plate arrived and looked very nice and a very large portion , noticed that all the food was very large and although a bit on the expensive side you got what you paid for , however the Bacon was very under cooked and all the fat left on, my wife and I were unable to eat it and gave it to our dog who was also welcome in the pub.

We were recommended to visit the Fox Inn by our Daughter. We booked a table and reserved our main courses. Very pleasent and welcoming staff. Food not cheap, but full of flavour and homemade.
Will visit again soon.

Called in for lunch on 1st May. Pub wasn't too busy but a few walkers turned up later on.
Ordered jacket potato lunches and was very pleasantly surprised at the excellent quality and quantity of the food. Plenty of fresh salad and very tasty filling.
Pleasant staff behind the bar. Food arrived in good time. All in all a very pleasant experience. Nice country pub tucked away in gorgeous Hampshire countryside.

Simple food served in a very traditional two bar pub off the beaten track. Nothing fancy but comfortable and cozy. Very friendly service. Well kept beer. Beer garden. Well wort a visit to experience a rapidly dissapearing part of British culture. I look forward to returning. We were not asked about allergies. Daily specials.
