“Sunday brunch”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 20, 2013

No reservations available. We came early as suggested the staff the day before we arrived. We came with a large family group and it took forever to seat us. They wanted to seat us outside but several elderly members are mobility impaired and it would have meant walking farther over uneven grass. Not an option.

“Very accommodating and friendly.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 19, 2013

We went to the happy hour on a beautiful day. From the hostesses, waiters, we received excellent service, attention and flexibility. We sat outside and the view was breathtaking. Food was very good. We had the 1/4 pound hamburger with sweet potato fries from the happy hour menu. Plenty of food, which allowed us to split a wonderful warm brownie with blueberry ice cream. Highly recommend Mallards.

“SLOW SERVICE!!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 15, 2013

We sat at the outside dining area. We sat, and sat, and more people came in and sat and sat. After 15 minutes we finally saw an employee. Two of them carrying out food for a table of six. Then the service improved, the food was fair, but we were seconds from getting up and going to another restaurant. Beautiful setting.

“Great breakfast buffet”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 10, 2013 via mobile

The weekday buffet at Mallards is a good bet: food is kept hot and frequently refreshed with good quality fruit (melons, pineapple, local berries, etc), biscuits, yogurt, all sorts of tasty pastries, heaps of good bacon and sausage, ETC. Service good and anxious to please. The view is outstanding and we did not mind the short walk from our room across the road. Sunday brunch is a bigger affair with more options and a higher price tag. It included more lunch items such as salad and seemed to run later in the day. We also dined at Malards on several evenings and thought the fries were divine and other food solidly good, if nothing remarkable.

“Very Slow Service”

The title says it all. The pub is run like its an afterthought, I don't think they're serious about it.
