Little Wasco doesn't have much going on, but is in a beautiful, quiet part of Oregon - rolling wheat fields and great views of Mt Hood and Mt Adams from the road by the airport. We stayed one night in the early fall. Clean, comfy and friendly hosts. Relaxing atmosphere. The living room has lots of books about the area and it's history. The hosts live in the upstairs, so there's a real feel that you're staying in someone's home, not a place of business. Not expensive and a good breakfast in the morning.
In the evening stroll over to the Lean-In Cafe & Goose Pit saloon for the only dining in town. Average food for a good price and very friendly people.
And don't miss Maryhill Museum, just north of town on the other side of the river in Washington. Eclectic museum with stunning views of the Columbia.More
