It's been three years since my last review, and we're still eating here... but not as much. There are two reasons for this.
They remodeled the restaurant earlier this year and took out the dividing wall between the separate "garden" dining room and the bar area. It's now all open. They added a half dozen video poker machines in a little room at the back of the dining area, and took out several booths.
Although we have nothing against eating in a microbrew tavern (and often do), the bar section of the Salty Dawg is, well, to be honest, just a small town "dive" bar. The patrons can get rowdy and sometimes crude whilst watching sports on the TV.
By placing the video poker machines in the dining section, there are now people traipsing back and forth right between tables, usually carrying a drink or a beer. The combination of being open to the bar and the video poker rather spoils this place for "family" dining.
The other problem is an employee. I won't mention her name, but she is consistently rude to customers, both locals and tourists. We know her schedule and make sure she isn't working before we come here to eat. The management has been told about her many times by locals -- but this person still works here! Go figure.
Other than that, the food is still quite good.
