This restaurant is located at one of the many McMenamin properties. It is in the Edgefield complex in Troutdale. The restaurant has a wide variety of foods and the seafood in particular is fresh and very well prepared. The service is attentive and skilled. The wine list is not extensive but includes Northwest wineries including the McMenamin bottles. There is also an on site distillery which I recommend sampling.

We had dinner here on a Friday night in early February while visiting friends in the area. Black Rabbit is the more upscale of the two dining options in the McMenamins Edgefield facility. Since we arrived early for our dinner reservation we had fun checking out the restored main building and the rest of the property -- including several small bars and a wine tasting room. Our table at Black Rabbit was ready when promised, the food was delicious with ample portion sizes, our server (Scott) was excellent, and they have a good selection of beers and wines. Yes it's a bit pricey, but worth it.

The food here is great and reasonably priced for breakfast. My friends had tasty egg dishes and everyone really enjoyed the experience. Friendly waitstaff were the icing on the cake.

Good food and service in an amazing building chocked full of art and curiosities. Cozy without being cave like.
