“On the "Do Not Miss" List”
Reviewed December 17, 2012

Seriously, if you come to Portland, you MUST SEE this area. I take all out-of-town guests here whether they want to go or not. Exit at Troutdale on the way out, drive the historic highway to escape the noise of the freeway, and stop to appreciate every waterfall along the way. Each hike is short, and worth it--the falls are beautiful rain or shine. Either pack a picnic lunch or hit Tad's Chicken and Dumplins' just outside of Corbett (Google it for directions) to enjoy a homestyle meal on the way home (I take I-84 back). Local secret: this trip makes a fantastic first date!

“Lovely drive- Outstanding views”
Reviewed November 10, 2012

Love this drive in the fall. You can see for miles. Bring your camera. I enjoyed stopping at all the waterfalls along the way. We also do the fruit loop for Apple harvest at all the fruit stands. Great Sunday drive.

“Hard to drive and look at the same time”
Reviewed November 8, 2012

The scenery along the Columbia River Highway is spectacular. Sometimes it is hard to keep your eyes on the road. Lots of distracting things to see, some are geological formations, some are man made like the kite boarders and Stonehenge across the river.

“Great views”
Reviewed November 6, 2012

Drive on this highway, and it almost feels as if you've left the US. The views in some parts are spectacular, and the highway exits to all sorts of neat little parks along the way, with spectacular views and photo ops.

Senic drive, with pull outs along the way to see the view. Roads can be curvy, when i was there i met little traffic.
