My husband and I stayed here for one night in March 2014. The weather was perfect! The views awesome. The hotel cozy and inviting. Bed was very comfortable. Room was on the small side, we had a room at the end of the hall on the 3rd floor by the pool. The walls are thin, so you can hear a lot of "noises". The food choices are few and on the expensive side, but what they have seemed to be good. We ate lunch across the parking lot, it was very good. I had one of the best hard cider's I've ever had. Wish we could've stayed longer. Maybe next time.

Timberline Lodge is a ski resort at Mt. Hood. The view is amazing and the structure of the lodge is an engineering feat that you could explore all day. It has amazing views and there is a buffet that is truly delectable. The service was excellent. Can't imagine anyone going to Mt Hood without eating at his restaurant. It is well worth it. Our bill was $67 for lunch for 7 people....and it was an all you can eat buffet. There is such a display craftsmanship in the building that it's like going to an art museum. Truly beautiful and worthy of a 5 star experience.

Room Tip: Top of the list in things we did in Oregon

Beautiful old WPA-era lodge—the common spaces are especially impressive. Such attention to detail everywhere you look! We've been skiing at Timberline all year (we had the Fusion pass) but stayed at the lodge for the first time this February.

Our room was rustic but appointed with quality linens & Pendleton blankets—it felt like a step back in time without being shabby. It was a small room (twin economy), so it did not have a fireplace or sitting area, but the price was right.

There are a number of spots to eat & drink. The best view is from the picture window in the Ram's Head bar (beautiful sunsets) but I think our favorite new discovery was the cozy Blue Ox Bar, tucked away next to the first floor lobby. Very good pizza and beers at reasonable prices.

The skiing at Timberline is great and it was so nice to have a ski locker just inside the lodge—they waxed his skis & returned them to the locker in time to pick them up the next morning.

Room Tip: We were in an economy queen—they're on the mezzanine level, right behind the Ram's Head Bar...

I love this lodge--it is one of the nicest I've stayed in so far. A combination of old and restored comfort. To be able to see Mt Hood from our bedroom window--what a treat! We don't ski but it doesn't matter. If you drive down the hill a bit there are many wonderful hiking trails for the novice to the accomplished hiker.

Don't expect a modern, hip hotel with an adjacent ski village bustling with nightlife- that is sooo not Timberline Lodge. What you get is an isolated oasis of historic comfort that sits on the side of a majestic mountain- at a level so high up that trees stop growing. Once the sun sets and the day visitors leave- skiers and/or hikers- it's like you are in a haunted mansion a million miles from nowhere. Except there is a fun pub to hang out at, a great bar that pours strong drinks, and a world class gourmet restaurant. There are so many nooks and crannies of the lodge to explore with lots of relics of the past to discover. Play a game if shuffleboard at midnight, examine a room full of skis and mountaineering equipment a hundred plus years old, or sit by a giant fire place while reading your favorite book. The rooms are small and the furnishings are ancient, but are luxurious and perfect considering your location. TIP- The upper level bar has tables with windows that frame majestic Mt. Hood. It is an incredible experience to sit at one of them and watch the mountain (like you would a TV) at sunset while sipping a beverage. Sometimes the atmospheric conditions are just so that the mountain is engulfed in an orange glow. A Zen moment you will never forget. The staff is helpful, the hotel is clean, etc. etc. etc. BUT... the experience of spending a night at the Timberline Lodge is priceless.

Room Tip: Avoid the rooms with bunk beds unless you are there with a big group or on a really tight budget.

The Lodge is a throwback to a simpler time - the modern is there if you want, but for a real experience the main lodge gives you a rustic and charming setting from another era. The rooms are small and sparse, but super clean and comfortable. There is much to admire about the original construction and the restoration of the Lodge, it calls to mind a history that we should preserve, but there was also the commitment to a guest satisfaction. The good was fresh and beautifully prepared from the best of local cuisine. Great views, fresh air, and glorious scenery, even for a non-skier! A happy time in a beautiful setting.

This Lodge is an incredible piece of our history. Every time we go, I spend almost as much time exploring the vast corners of the lodge as I do plowing through the snow. We have summer skied on Palmer Glacier, winter skied during blue bird days and complete whiteouts and has awesome powder days in April. Whenever you visit the Lodge, you will have a great time. The Sunday Brunch is fabulous. The pool and hot tub with 15 feet of snow all around you is really cool. We love it so much I married my beautifu wife there last August. The wedding planners did a great job.

Room Tip: Make sure your room face Mt. Hood
