“Surprising”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 1, 2012 via mobile

My girlfriend is into quilting so I suggested we stop in for her enjoyment. The woman who runs it was so nice I couldn't help but have a lovely time there. There was a fascinating exhibit there at the time. Like nothing I'd seen before. Quilting can be interesting.

“Old Time Skills are best”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 21, 2012

This is like a museum with high quality displays of quilts old and new. The history of hand made quilts, techniques and materials is very interesting even if you have never been involved in the craft. Frequently demonstrations and showings of area artists are on display. Try this unique place out for a surprising time.

The everyday display was super, but the traveling quilt show was spectacular. I didn't really expect to find a traveling quilt show in a place like Tillamook.

“Beautiful Quilts at Latimer, Loved My Time Here!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 6, 2007

Out in the middle of the Tillamook farm country sits the Latimer Quilt & Textile Center. It is located in a fully restored 1939 schoolhouse, and features many different kinds of quilts, one room is dedicated to quilting, complete with looms and spinning wheels, I enjoyed watching the artists at work in this room. The room adjacent to this one houses quilts on display, a small TV where you can view a video of the history of Latimer and several drawers that you can open and view handkerchiefs, doll patterns and historical memoralbilia.

The room that used to be auditorium at the school is now a museum, no photography is allowed in this room. The staff is very friendly and admission is only $2.50/pp which is an excellent value for this historical and educational Tillamook attraction.

There is also a small gift shop where you can purchse homemade items, books and souvenirs of the Latimer Quilt Center. If you love fabrics, quilts and sewing don't miss this place while in the Tillamook area.
