Wonderful collection of birds and good dioramas for a smaller museum. A pioneer room, military room, Native American room. Victorian bedroom, a collection of Lincoln memorabilia donated by Oregon Senator Mark O. Hatfield, a stage that came over the Trask Toll Road, a Native American canoe - they have all sorts of things! Staff is very friendly and helpful. Great genealogy department, too. They also manage Kilchis Point, an early Indian settlement that is on Tillamook Bay. All of it worth your time!

This museum has been in the old Tillamook courthouse since the 1930s. It has exhibits about the native American tribes in the area, early settlers, a horse tack workshop, and classic transportation from horse buggies, old cars and a fire engine. There are rotating exhibits usually by local artists and the top floor has a natural history exhibit with taxidermy models of birds, mammals, and fish that is really complete. The admission was around $3.00 and the volunteer staff are very helpful.

Great displays, lots of information plus they developed a video for those who could not handle the stairs for the upper floor and basement. Te volunteer who assisted us was very knowledgable and personable.

If you have any interest in museums, you shouldn't skip this one. It isn't your typical community historical society. It is a full fledged respectable museum. It covers the history of the region and has plenty of artifacts to showcase. Plan an 90 minutes for a thorough walk thru.

A surprise of all that was inside this small place. The downstairs was larger than the main floor. Easy to navigate and the entry fee was very reasonable.
