“Best chowder bread bowl, not the best dining room”

Kendra’s Kitchen is located in an old house, which can be charming, and it is in this case to some degree. However the house smells like your grandma’s house. The grandma that believes in using moth balls as potpourri. It could also use a good cleaning.

That was a bit off putting for me but we decided to stay. The wait staff was pleasant and the food was actually pretty good. One of the items we ordered was the clam chowder bread bowl. The chowder is a thin broth type of chowder and I favor a heavier base but it was very good. The real star was the bread bowl. It is baked in a buttery garlic spread and it was delicious.

I would definitely try other spots in Tillamook before returning to Kendra’s but it was worth checking out.

We are normally very temperate but this tarnished our evening. Long waits for food, 1hr, half of my main course came as a starter which was ridiculous. Portion of fries was forgotten and came out 10 minutes after we both had finished our meals. Also a family dining next to us left 20 mins before we were served as they couldn't tolerate the waiting time.

Awesome atmosphere. Early 1900's house. The food was greatI and the service was fast. Very friendly family run establishment. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone.

First, I don't write reviews unless something is exceptional- good or bad.
We were driving down the street and wanted something other than fast food, looking for a 'mom and pop' type place for lunch. We were lucky enough to find Kendra's! If you enjoy homemade food...the salad I had was exceptional, the clam chowder bread bowl the BEST I have ever had (Kendra has French bread made special just for this instead of using sourdough). My wife had the Chicken Club sandwich and was delighted with the chicken breast (nothing sliced and diced here) and everything that was on it. If you could stand by a chef and pick out the most exceptional items for your plate, that is what is served here. This is a slow paced meal in a home accented atmosphere. If you are in a hurry, you won't be happy here, it won't fit into a busy schedule. If you want a relaxed dining treat, something you will pleasantly remember, don't pass this opportunity by.

We were in Tillamook for a meeting and found this restaurant the first night, at recommendation of desk clerk at our hotel. Enjoyed it so much that we went back for dinner the next night and brought a few others with us for lunch. Great food (LOVED the clam chowder bread bowl) and they use local ingredients as much as possible. Halibut fish and chips included some of the best halibut we've ever had. Salad had lots of variety and VERY fresh. Kendra's is in a fun old house with not a square corner in it and funky (in a good way) decor. Be sure to take cash or checks because they don't take credit cards. (imagine that keeps the costs down and it would be tough to keep this going when it's not tourist season) Dinner server was not attentive or friendly, but because the food was good, we went back. We did not have the experience with greasy or over-done food that others have commented on.
