The dirt and gravel road to get there was easy compared to the footpath to get to the falls from the parking. Very irregular and after about half a mile I saw that I could not traverse the plank step path the rest of the way and suggest that unless you are very healthy and agile this is not the site to visit.

The falls are beautiful, the trail up is not very difficult. Interesting moss hanging from many of the trees. Last bit of the trail was still closed in July.

Others have mentioned the poor road, I would have to agree, but if you take your time you can steer around all of the potholes.

After trekking down the long uneven road and a short hike in we discovered the trail closed as a result of several very large trees down over trail. You could see the falls from the trail closed sign but not the experience we had hoped for after such a long drive from Seaside.

I hesitate to call this road a road as it disintegrates into a pot holed unpaved mess almost immediately. You get jostled around and think you will never get to the falls. We finally pulled into the very small parking area and saw one truck there. This is a very isolated spot. We started up the easy trail watching the creek flow by and listening to the soothing sounds. We met up with a grandfather and his two grandkids on their way down. He told us not to give up as the falls were worth it. Turns out it was a bit of a steep climb at the end, but he was right. The falls were just spectacular. We didn't stay too long because the mosquitos were out, but we took photos galore. And then we had the pleasure of another bone jarring ride back to the main road. But trust me, the ride is worth it for the gift at the end of the rainbow.

This is well worth the rough road to get there. The 1/4 mile hike is on an easy path and it was a beautiful walk. Bring your camera!
