Tucked away in the suburbs, but totally worth the 15 min drive. Very unassuming set up, which makes the place look and feel like a very authentic izakaya, which it is. Good quality super fresh sushi, lots of izakaya options, great plum wine - loved the place! Highly recommended.

Our favorite Japanese restaurant, small hole in the wall with a nice atmosphere and amazing food and fresh sushi.

Maki is the best! Shiro-san was the chef at Syun many moons ago when the place was at its prime. Contemporary Japanese atmosphere. Not a false note about the place. We always bring Japanese clients and relatives here because the place is the real deal.

I hate California Rolls, and yet, I tried the ones at Maki and darned if they weren't amazing! None of the nasty mayonnaise and krab. Pure ingredients and good form. My spouse loved the whole grilled squid and can't wait until they have it as a special again. Although a little pricey, you should definitely check them out.

This is a great sushi place tucked away in Tigard. Another one that escaped us for years until recently. The food is excellent and well-prepared and presented. There are only a handful of sushi places we visit anymore (this being one, as well as Banya in Beaverton and Sho in Portland). This one makes the short list for sure. The staff is very friendly and there is enough seating to accommodate a lunch or dinner crowd. Be aware, they are closed on Monday. Highly recommended!
