Stayed here about 6 different times now. I live in Seattle but have family and friends in Portland and often come down to visit with my family (my kids are 6, 4, 18 mos). What I love about this hotel when traveling with my family? No downside and value added. Location is great, right off the freeway and 15 minutes south of Portland and next to plenty of retail. Property is newer and done tastefully. Rooms are significantly larger than most of the national chains I have stayed at the area while at a similar price. Parking is great with a multi-level parking structure to shield the elements in the winter. Bed is above average, free wifi, reasonable amount of channels on tv (high def), a couch in the room instead of a small chair in the corner, gym, indoor pool (not huge but never that busy), a small store where you can buy a snack or beer and wine. Traveling with a family the breakfast is great. Plenty of options for food (kids love the waffle station), attentive staff, and included with your stay (unless you travel a ton the nationals charge you for breakfast). So, like I said, no real downside (at least for me). Does the job of a clean, functional, centrally located place to stay at a reasonable price.
