The lobby is large and comfortable. The rooms are spacious and clean. They offer a complimentary breakfast in the morning. It is within walking distance of. Nice shopping and dining area. They is somewhat convenient to downtown Portland taking about 15 mins to drive on a weekend.

I had booked my one night stay for the 22nd of this month via their web site. When I checked in, they had no record of my reservation even after I showed an email confirmation. However, they put me in a Jacuzzi mini suite at the same discounted rate that I had paid for a king room. We really enjoyed the separate bedroom and the big Jacuzzi tub. Hate to see their water bill.
We love this location as the Bridgeport Mall is a great place to eat, drink coffee, and shop. The hotel was only 1 mile from my meeting location and it is a great place to stay!

Room tip: ask for a free upgrade if you are bold

Thanks so much to Joe Keller for his help with the check in process at the Grand Hotel. I wanted a quiet room because I will be here for business and he was extremely helpful. He even took me to see a couple different rooms. I travel at and have seldom had this kind of service at check in. I will report more after a few nights here.

Hotel was chosen by friend's for guests for their daughter's wedding. The staff was more than willing to work with us on all accommodations when booking, when we arrived and throughout our stay. We were there 3 nights, bopped up to WA state to do some sight seeing and returned for another 2 nights, and they were more than willing to give us the same, amazing treatment and wedding guest price when we returned. The hotel was gorgeous, the cleanliness was above exceptional, the beds were the most comfortable for a great night sleep and morning breakfast was amazing. I would return there in a heartbeat. Kudos to The Grand Hotel and staff!

Room tip: Just let the staff know your needs.

Stayed here about 6 different times now. I live in Seattle but have family and friends in Portland and often come down to visit with my family (my kids are 6, 4, 18 mos). What I love about this hotel when traveling with my family? No downside and value added. Location is great, right off the freeway and 15 minutes south of Portland and next to plenty of retail. Property is newer and done tastefully. Rooms are significantly larger than most of the national chains I have stayed at the area while at a similar price. Parking is great with a multi-level parking structure to shield the elements in the winter. Bed is above average, free wifi, reasonable amount of channels on tv (high def), a couch in the room instead of a small chair in the corner, gym, indoor pool (not huge but never that busy), a small store where you can buy a snack or beer and wine. Traveling with a family the breakfast is great. Plenty of options for food (kids love the waffle station), attentive staff, and included with your stay (unless you travel a ton the nationals charge you for breakfast). So, like I said, no real downside (at least for me). Does the job of a clean, functional, centrally located place to stay at a reasonable price.
