Recently stayed at the Inn with my wife. The staff was very good, we asked for a change in rooms and they worked it out. Asked for a recommendation for a restaurant. Staff recommended The Baldwin Saloon, it was very good. Great Breakfast at the Inn...Will be back in the future!

I've stayed at The Dalles Inn on and off for years. We have a facility that I work at nearby. Never had a problem to make a reservation and arriving well past midnight. It is centrally located with easy access to resturants within walking distance and yes there is a continental breakfast.

Room Tip: Upper floors in the main building, as far to south-east as possible

Good Afternoon,
I normally am a very skeptical hotel guest. We almost cancelled our trip, after realizing they didn't have an indoor pool. However, we had booked through the internet, and were unable to. That being said, our 5 and 8 year old had an amazing time despite no pool. Our family has been through a very tumultuous year. After cancer, and a major car accident impacting our lives greatly, this was just the get away we needed. We would have loved to have stayed longer, and will without question be returning. It was comfortable, quaint, very clean, and the staff were the friendliest place I have ever checked into. Great movie selection. Great stay all the way around. I never eat hotel continental breakfast. This was the most elaborate spread I have seen, fresh fruit, waffles, cereal, granola, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, the list goes on. Everyone found something delicious to eat. Todd and April S

Room Tip: They were very forthcoming about the best, most quiet rooms. Just ask.

Called ahead because we would not be arriving until 2 am, told no problem arriving late and would not fill up. Rate was reasonable. Not sure about the location when we pulled in but reviews were good so decided to try it. Room and bed were super clean and comfy. Very tasteful and better than expected. Cool looking outdoor pool. They offered king for same price as queen. Free simple continental breakfast - restaurant style dining room with booths on 2nd floor with big windows and view of trains. Great experience and very friendly staff and worth the cost. If we need it, this is definitely our spot for next time in The Dalles!

The hotel is a bit dated. The room was very very large and clean. The general conditional of the hotel was good. The rooms that front on 2nd Street are a bit noisy because there is a USPS hub directly across the street. Plenty of towels in the bathroom and they had body/fluff. No mold whatsoever in the bathroom. The carpet was a bit dated but seemed as if it had been vacuumed regularly and before our stay. All of the carpets were in decent shape. The elevator and reception were dated but the reception staff were very pleasant. The breakfast area seemed as if it had been a table service restaurant at one time and not just an area converted to breakfast service after the fact. Breakfast itself was basic but all of the stations and offerings were attended to by an employee as we ate. We will return to this hotel based on price and we will resolve our main complaint, i.e. noise, by asking for a room that does not face Second Street and the river.

Room Tip: Avoid the rooms that face Second Street. There is a USPS hub across the street directly in front of...

We stay in The Dalles a few times per year for leisurely weekends. We chose The Dalles Inn for the first time because of their pet friendly policies. Many good things to report:
-Pet friendly they are! The front desk was happy to see our little pooch, they had plastic food/water bowls in the room for us, and pet blankets
-The room was spotless. I looked and looked but found nothing wrong.
-Breakfast was great. No lines, convenient times, and just enough to get the day going.
-Rates are very competitive. I would say this is close to a "no frills" experience without lacking anything in guest satisfaction.

We shall return!

This was the second time my wife and I stayed at the Dalles Inn. We drove up to the Dalles to visit a friend of ours. We checked in and Lisa was on the front desk and helped us with the check-in . She did a excellent job of making us feel very welcome. I asked about Renee' Lisa told us she would be at the desk in the morning. Had a great night sleep,in fact we over slept and missed breakfast. I went down to the lobby to get a cup of coffe and Renee' was on duty and asked in we had breakfast yet? I told her we over slept. She said that there was still some pastrys up stairs and to help ourselves. I fact she walked up with me and even made me a walffel. What SERVICE. The Westover inns do a fantastic job of hiring excellent help..... We will try more Westover Inns.
