Hotel is nice: clean, centrally located and decent price. Used pool and breakfast which was o.k. Would stay here again.

Stayed at The Dalles Inn overnight to go to Maryhill Winery for a concert. The amphitheater venue was close enough to the Inn, and the accomodations at the hotel were satisfactory. Nice clean room and clean, comfortable bedding, pleasant, no frills. Just the basics. Everything worked well--plumbing, A/C, TV, etc. Some mild street noise and from a nearby bar, easily muffled by the fan of the A/C. We were able to bring our little dog along, who also slept well and had no complaints. The $140 charge (with tax) seemed a bit pricey for The Dalles and what is a very basic motel with rooms off the parking lot.

We needed a place to stay near the Maryhill Winery for a concert and the Columbia River Gorge. We chose The Dalles Inn based on the reviews from Tripadvisor. We were pleased with our stay. The girl checking us in was helpful and friendly.

This hotel has a lot of perks. They provided a decent continental breakfast that included a pancake maker. The room had a nice Samsung TV with a few HD channels. They also provided a CD player with a whole bunch of movies to choose from in the lobby. We had a good size refrigerator and microwave in the room. The wireless was a little slow the one night we stayed.

Our queen room ($107 for the night) was on the small size, but it was clean and comfortable. Sleeping was quiet even though the hotel was full. They had a nice outdoor pool area that is connected to the lobby. There is nothing special about the downtown area. We came back at 11pm from the concert and did not see one person in town anywhere, and this was a Saturday night. Overall I recommend The Dalles Inn if needing a place in this area.

We were driving from Spokane to Portland, and this was a good half way point. We were met with friendliness and good service, I had a refreshing dip in the pool, and all in all it was a good night. But there was only coffee for one in the room, and the tv reception was'nt too good. But we found a movie, and had an early night. The room was quite small, but the bed was comfy.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing east.

When we got there, we were put in an upstairs room. We have an elderly and arthritic dog who doesn't do well with stairs. We went back and they put us in a downstairs room immediately. They were great! Located in the historic part of town, which we loved. Close to everything!

We chose Dalles, OR because we wanted to explore the eastern part of the Columbia River Gorge. Dalles Inn is most accomodating - we extended our stay to two nights. Crisp, clean linens and excellent pillow from soft to firm. A standard continental breakfast was included as well. If you need a more upscale breakfast, there is a French bakery within walking distance which is excellent as well. We'd come back.

Don't let the exterior of this hotel scare you off. The rooms have been upgraded and are in excellent condition with new paint, new bathroom fixtures, flat screen TVs, DVD player, coffee maker, microwave, refrigerator, and free wifi. We were impressed with the bathroom amenities and the shower head is high enough that it should accommodate most people up to at least 6'3" easily. Our bed was extremely comfortable with plenty of pillows. It is located in the heart of downtown. There is a pub right next door in addition to many stores and restaurants within walking distance. The staff was all very friendly and accommodating. The only drawback was the tiny parking spots but this was a very minor inconvenience.
