Description: We have been updated and our interior completed redone by restaurant Impossible. A new exciting look with amazing steaks and seafood. Hidden in the Dalles Industrial center right on the banks of the mighty columbia river. This is a hidden gem that you dont want to miss.

After watching the makeover on Food Network's Restaurant Impossible, we decided to take a drive to go check out the Windseeker. We had to try the food we watched from the show. We started off with the Crab margarita and tempura mushrooms. We had mixed reviews on these. No one liked the dipping sauce for the mushrooms and wished we had some ranch to dip it into. We loved the idea of the family style salad, again, just wished we had a choice of dressing. My 16 year old had a burger and gave two thumbs up. My husband's fish and chips was good but a bit overpriced. I had the Dijon Chicken and it was very delicious. The service was great, our waitress had the sweetest smile and was very attentive. We decided we will definately make the drive back this summer when we can enjoy a drink out on the patio as the view is beautiful.

Drop dead gorgeous location: lush, over the top wildflower gardens surroung the place, and the Restaurant Impossible makeover of the restuarant's interior looks terrific. And then there's the Columbia River looming right outside the big picture glass windows. Great place to get a steak and beer outside on the patio on a hot summer's evening (just watch out for the mosquitos when there;s no breeze). My only gripe is the tendency to pad the bill (e.d., substituing pricy wine for a "house" white).

This newly remodeled restaurant was busy, happy, and the food was excellent. We cant wait for the summer when patio dining and cooking will begin. Awesome view, friendly staff.

While staying at Cousins Motel we found this Restaurant at TA within walking distance.Te walk passed through deserted commercial areas and small factories and we thought we had lost our way. The restaurang is quite hard to locate but once insisde (or rather outside on the deck) there is a very beatiful view of the river, the mountains towards NE and the light at sunset was beatiful. Food was plentiful although not remarkable in any way. But we had a beautiful evening on the river bank.

I ate at Windseeker twice this week. This is post- Restaurant Impossible. My experience to date with WS is a few lunches with a business partner. He liked that the food was 'decent' (his words, not mine), and that it was a great place for business because it was never crowded and the waitresses hardly ever bothered you.

Enough of the past.

Food is excellent. The fish and chips seem to be a favorite, as well as the burger. The burger would be a little better without the cheese (it comes with cheese unless you ask for no cheese). Instead of fries, they also offer home made potato chips, which are good but can be chewy (still good though, with a little salt).

Excellent scenic outdoor seating weather permitting (9 months out of the year).

There's a bar side with a few pool tables and a small stage which would be a good hang out.

Kindof in a strange neighborhood (next to huge grain bins), but this is a small historic out west town and you gotta dig that :-)
