Our first night in Oregon, after disembarking from an Alaskan cruise was in Sutherlin at the Best Westerm Plus Hartford Lodge. This location was chosen because of the reviews found at TripAdvisor. The Hartford Lodge far exceeded our expectations. We were quite tired after traveling from Seattle to Sutherlin, and what we desired most was a clean and comfortable room. What we encountered was comfort beyond compare. We slept on the best mattress either of us has ever slept on, and we both have very good mattresses in our homes, and prior to our cruise had stayed in a 5 Star hotel, and nothing could compare to the bed in this small town lodge. Neither of us wanted to leave, and every mattress from that point was compared to the wonderful mattress at Hartford Lodge. None of them came close. Some were comfortable, but none were like the beds in that small town lodge. When we told the front desk personnel how amazing the mattress was, she laughed and told us of a prior customer who had called the CEO of the company to try to find out where to purchase the mattress. We fully understood why that call was made. Inside and out, this lodge is clean and well kept.
The staff all seem very happy to be at work. The breakfast, which is included, was extremely good.....the omelets are quite tasty! There were many items from which to choose for a filling and good breakfast. The rate was reasonable. This is a smoke free and pet free lodging. (A plus for those of us with allergies/asthma.) We are already planning another trip to the west coast, and we do plan to try to stay here again!

Wow. Thank you so much for the great review! We are so glad that you enjoyed your stay here. Our staff enjoys serving our guest and thank you for noticing. Here we believe that YOU deserve the best, and so WE try to exceed all your expectations.

We are delighted that you enjoyed our mattresses. We have received many compliments, along with yours, about these new beds and pillows. Many say that they sleep better at our Lodge than they do at home. We have had guests try to buy our mattresses from us. Some even joke that they are going to “steal” one because they had such a peaceful nights’ rest. It is funny to hear that our beds even compete with 5 star hotels, but that is not surprising considering that we are a BEST WESTERN PLUS.

Thank you for noticing our breakfast! We are very proud of it. It is one of our key features here, along with the Indoor Pool & Spa. In addition, we are planning to add breakfast crepes to the menu!

We can’t wait to see you again! We’ll have a hot omelet and a comfy bed waiting! =)

The staff at the Hartford Lodge are very friendly. They made us feel welcomed the second we walked into the lobby. The room was clean and very cozy. The bed was the best!!! We were concerned that we might be bothered by the freeway noise, but you could not hear it from the room. After a peacful night, we had breakfast the next morning and once again experenced the feeling of being welcomed by the staff. Our stay was very relaxing. We will plan another trip and spend more than just one night.

Thank you for writing a nice review! Our staff strives to make this place feel like your home away from home. Due to a recent remodel and renovation of the entire building and rooms, all the rooms are very well insulated and block out a lot of outside noise, especially cars. We hope to see you soon!

My wife and i recently stayed there on our 20th anniversary night we loved the cabin feel of the rooms, the rooms were as clean as you would expect a motel to be, the staff was very friendly, being right off the freeway made it easy to find yet we didn't have the freeway noise , and what a great lobby we felt very welcomed and relaxed the minute we walked in,we had dinner just down the street and it was great we didn't even have to drive to get there, the pool and spa were very nice it was a great way to relax after a long drive before turning in for the evening, the next morning we had our egg omelets and they were great the breakfast staff were friendlier than most dinners i have been in we couldn't resist leaving a tip , we wish we could have stayed longer but we will be coming back again soon and we highly recommend it for anybody wanting a peaceful nights stay or even a special night stay as we did--love you guys!!!

Congratulations on your 20th anniversary night!!! Thank you so much for writing an amazing review!

Thank you for acknowledging our superbly clean rooms and noticing that our rooms are very well insulated so you cannot hear much outside noise even though we are by the interstate.

You should come back and see our lobby during the winter when the fireplace is lit up! Then it really feels like a Lodge…

Our Indoor Pool & Spa is open ALL YEAR ROUND, so even in the winter, so you can have a nice relaxing time after a long drive/day.

We are glad you enjoyed your OMELET breakfast and that your experience with the breakfast staff was beyond your expectation.

We really hope you come visit us again!

My wife and I have recently stayed at this hotel during our wine tour in the umpqua valley, and I must say that our experience here at the Best Western Hartford Lodge was superb. The room was immaculate! My wife and I are particular when it comes to cleanliness and this hotel tops all the other hotels that we had stayed in during our Oregon Wine Adventure. I was extremely impressed on what they had to offer for breakfast! There was a breakfast bar with many options to choose from and their omelettes were AMAZING!! Oh also the hotel service was exceptional, the front desk clerk who checked us in ( I believe her name was Mary) was extremely friendly and very helpful. We would definitely come back!

we haddone research online even reading reviews and all info we could find about this motel before deciding to stay here...the room was definitely very clean but, that's where the good report stops !!! My granddaughter has food sensitivity issues and so the first day we ordered her omelet she ended up not being able to eat it as some kind of sauce was poured on top of it...the next morning I pointed out that she has food issues and then she got her omelet correct but, mine was totally forgotten...I ordered again and this time got mine but, with the sauce again on mine...since my husband don't eat regular egg omelets, I asked for his to be made for my granddaughter as she was still hungry...they didn't want to do it as it's only one to a customer....my husband never did find hot water for tea....the breakfast in my opinion, was not much more than a buffet with the omelet add-on....the pool was nice and so was the edging around pool but, the area going to the bathrooms, shower, and sitting area was tiled and very slippery...My grandson fell twice and a friend fell once.my husband, myself, and our son also almost fell...we had a room with 2 beds and the one bed was so close to the wall that you had to turn sideways to get into and out of bed...also, the heater and fridge were making loud noises ( my husband could hear it and he wears a hearing aid and heard the noise withou hi aids in) for a price of $119 a night one would expect much better return for their monies

Thank you for taking the time to write a review on TripAdvisor. I apologize for not exceeding your expectations. We strive to ensure each and every guest experience is satisfying. We do pride ourselves on having immaculate rooms and thank you for noticing. Please know that we are taking your feedback to heart and focusing on improving. The very next day after you mentioned to the Front Desk about people having food sensitivities and that we should take the pepper off the eggs, we immediately notified our Café Breakfast Chef and Staff and appropriate measures were taken to ensure that this was adjusted. We now provide salt and pepper at the tables so you can season your own eggs the way you like them. Thank you for notifying us and helping us improve in this area. All of our omelets are cooked-to-order and you have a choice of omelet fillings. The sauce you are describing is your choice of bacon, ham, sausage, tomatoes, mushrooms, peppers, onions, or cheese filling. You can either order all (The Works), some, or none. It is your choice. I apologize that the staff was not clear about this when you ordered your omelet. Our breakfast is advertised as a Full Breakfast Bar, that is buffet-style, self-serve, all you can eat. In addition though, you are able to order one thing from the Café Menu which features dishes such as Omelets, Cooked-to-Order Eggs, and Pancakes which come with sides like Country Potatoes, Sausage, or Bacon. As for the hot water, it is a little handle attached to the coffee machine that everyone usually misses. I apologize that this was not labeled clearer.

The pool is checked and maintained daily. It has been inspected and has passed all inspections. The titles that are used in the pool area are safety tiles that provide the most traction and are the least slippery when wet. When wet, things do tend to be slippery. So we do ask that people please take extra care when in the pool area.

Normally, a room with 2 queen beds is designed for 2 Adults and 2 Children. However, since you did have 4 Adults in one room, naturally things would be a little tighter. The only other option would have been to get two rooms. The heater and refrigerator are maintained weekly.

Again, I apologize for the inconvenience during your stay and it is our hope that you will give us another opportunity to serve you.

Drove down from Seattle to Northern Cal last summer. This was our first overnight stop heading south. I was blown away with the breakfast, Adored the chicken tamales at the buffet line. The staff was 100% on the spot. Hey guys, a free hot breakfast buffet doesn't mean you don't have to leave gratuity at the table. This Best Western was a great start to what became a memorable trip for us and our adult children. What a relief for me. I make all the hotel arrangements every yearly road trip and still get family jabs about that broken down barn of a motel we stayed at on the way to Yellowstone 7 years ago! Thank you Best Western!

Thank you for taking the time to write a great review about our hotel! We’re glad you enjoyed one of our occasional specials, the chicken tamales! Our staff strives to meet and exceed guest expectations on service. We hope you had a great trip with your family and that this hotel stay has absolved you for your unfortunate hotel arrangements 7 years ago in Yellowstone. ;) We hope you don’t get any more family jabs, but rather compliments! We would love to see you again if you are every passing through Sutherlin, OR!

My Husband and I were heading home to Santa Barbara aftert a 10 day trip with stops in Nevada, Oregon, Washington and British Columbia. We left Puyallup, Wa on Easter Sunday and were heading down the I-5 through Oregon. I was getting tired and Knew we had a long way to go before were home. Saw the Best Western Hartford Lodge billboard. Said Luxury Rooms with Cafe and Bakery. Sutherlin, Oregon. We were going to go as far as we could, but I told my husband "Let's stay here" So glad we did. Off season, The place was wonderful.! Complimentary baked goods in the evening and great choice of complimentary breakfast cooked to order. What made it even more enjoyable was "Lupe" in the Cafe. Service with a Giant Smile! The menu had a "Maria's Special" we told Lupe we thought she was special!
