This restaurant was recommended so we reviewed the menu and wanted to try. It is a small restaurant so reservations are a must. We went at 6pm and were seated immediately on a Saturday night. We sat outside even though it was cool. I ordered the special Pan Seared Halibut and my husband had the beef tenderloin. We started with a salad which was small and ok but nothing extraordinary. The entree was a different story! Superbly incredible! I was worried about the food getting cool in the cool weather but the entrees were delivered hot and delicious. Truly my halibut was better than I hoped. My husband's tenderloin was so tender he could cut it with a fork. The accompanying whipped potatoes and asparagus and broccoli were perfect. The staff was attentive/excellent. This was our most enjoyable meal while spending a week in Sunriver. The prices were spot on for what we had! Loved this restaurant and the dinner we had!

The menu is fresh and fantastic, cozy atmosphere, shouldn't pass up a chance to try it. And the owners are both Chef and Server, so you know they will make sure you are having a great time.

We wanted a nice evening out and South Bend Bistro delivered. The cocktails were great, tuna tar tar appetizer was outstanding; small pear salad and Caesar salad were each delightful; pan fried Halibut was perfectly cooked, and duck breast was melt-in-your-mouth sweetly satisfying.

Deserts were delicious. We brought our own bottle of wine; corkage was $15 - a good value. Friendly, courteous, fast service. You won't be disappointed coming here without driving all the way to Bend for a fine meal.

We had an excellent meal served by friendly, attentive staff in a charming atmosphere The South Bend Bistro is a nice change from the larger, more boisterous family fare places at Sunriver. Be sure to make a reservation the place is small.
