If you are in Sunriver, Bend or Central Oregon do not miss this jewel. This is a "mom & pop" type restaurant with Northwest flavor and a quality that rivals my 20+ years of dining in many of the finest restaurants in the south of France. Lars is the chef and wife Jamie serves as the charming hostest.
Their South Bend Bistro best reminds me of one of my consistant favorites Lou Candeloun in Grasse, France owned and run by Chef Alexis Mayroux and his wife Sophie.
Lars and Jamie's menu is simple but sophisticated. The flavors are always sensational, the vegatables the best in the world and do not miss Jamie's Macadamia Nut Tart for dessert. The wine list, although limited, always offers at least two or three winners and never any poor choices.
Service is always top notch and by your second visit Jamie will make you feel like a familiar and cherished family member.
