Absolutely gorgeous park with an outstanding campground. I checked into rustic Cabin #2, and began the Trail of Ten Falls hike, all I can say is amazing. I opted for the 5 mile trip that lets you experience 8 of the ten falls, and we drove to the last two. The Cabin was in one of the beautiful settings, surround by giant trees. I plan to return in my RV later in life!

Camping ground was clean and sites of medium size. Apparently it's almost always full b/c not much flat ground in the area. Great drive through farm country. Hiking - lots of options for various abilities. Unfortunately the trails weren't as clean of trash as they should be - maybe the state of OR should invest in signage "leave it cleaner than you found it"?? Great time none the less.

Silver Falls State Park was far better than our trip to Multnomah Falls, just don't tell the tourists. Park admission is only $3.00/automobile. Dogs are not allowed on Canyon Trail, the trail with the most waterfalls. You probably won't get cell phone service, so find a meet up spot and time the old fashion way. The park guides/ambassadors aren't always reliable and our friends were led the wrong way.

Growing up nearby, this has always been one of my favorite places to go. It is absolutely beautiful anytime of year. The old buildings tucked away along the trails are hidden treasures! Whether you go set up the BBQ near the swimming hole or you go hiking in the dead of winter, it has something for everyone. Make sure you stop at the Main Lodge for some elephant ears and cocoa or live music depending on what time of year. There is camping & horseback riding as well. Recomended for all ages!! Bring your camera!
