If You are hungry (truly hungry--portions are amazing!) for great authentic flavors in Mexican food, this is a must stop for some of the area's best. Family run, this establishment is well worth seeking out.
i love burritos, and their #1 is something special. It is a fresh, giant tortilla wrapped around an amazing array of contents and flavors. It is a true challenge to finish because of the size and weight. It is so delicious that one slows down and enjoys each mouthful in the hope there is enough room to finish it. i have had 3 way burritos where there are distinct sections of filling (green chili, bean, red chili). This burrito was simply filled with an array of different fillings that made each bite taste different but more delicious than the previous bite.
Lots of meat. Lots of spices. Lots of different flavors and blends that quite simply ended up becoming the best burrito i have ever had the pleasure of consuming. i was intrigued by having a chili relleno as part of this burrito. Sure enough, when i got to the bottom, there it was, in all its amazing glory. A cheese filled pepper, bursting with flavor and still warm about 15 minutes after the adventure began. The perfect ending!
It was so delicious, my wife ordered another one to take home for me for the next day. It was nearly as delicious heated in the microwave as the fresh one the day before. Tortilla stayed soft and pliable too after 3 minutes on high to heat it all the way through. That was amazing!
My wife enjoyed two tacos (gluten free) one beef, one chicken. She said they were both good, but next time she will go for chicken as the flavor was wonderful. The filling and portions of the tacos were also very generous, so much so that she said she would have to be really hungry again to be able to eat two.
She ordered beans as a side, but we never expected such a huge portion of beans. Clearly freshly made in house, this was a deep soup bowl full of hot, flavorful beans. Both of us shared it, but with the large portions of our lunch, we could not finish the beans.
Total lunch bill, including a drink, was under $15. Take home was another $6.
Go here for the incredible food. Ambiance is non existent. There are tables and chairs to seat perhaps 40 and everything is as basic/bare bones as one could expect. It is exactly the kind of joint where one can expect miraculously inspired home recipes served in generous portions, as if each customer was part of the family. That's how it is!
We noticed many customers picking up their orders to go. For such a small shop, they were certainly busy at 4 p.m. - a time when most places are slow or empty.
Find them and enjoy!
