Stayed at this hotel in April during a family trip down to Southern California. Pulled off the freeway and stopped at a couple of other places, but they did not seem all that great for the prices they were asking.
Stopped at the Holiday Inn Express just before getting back on the freeway and were impressed with the price (close to what the other places were asking) and the hotel seemed pretty new. The front counter person was very helpful and set us up in a suite with two beds and a sofa-sleeper. This worked out great for our family of 4. The hotel was close to several restaurants and the front desk turned us on to a $1.50 movie theatre just down the street that provided inexpensive entertainment for the evening.
The next morning we were all surprised by the breakfast buffet that came with the room. Much more than the normal "continental" fare, this breakfast offered scrambled eggs and bacon as well as those sinfull cinimon rolls. Another big savings.
While all hotels seem to be overpriced these days, we certainly felt like we got our money's worth at the Holiday Inn Express. Helpful staff, large room with three beds and the free breakfast in the morning were just the ticket. We will certainly stop here again if we are in the Springfiled area.More
