“Fun Reuse”

This former gas station/garage is a charming breakfast/lunch spot with yummy food in downtown Springfield. Fresh ingredients, ample servings kick up Mom's cooking a notch or two.

“Great local lunch spot and catering”
Reviewed July 7, 2012

My office is near the Pump, and we visit it regularly. The restaurant staff are wonderful- very friendly and helpful. The food is great with generous portions. My favorite is their Cobb salad- it's enough for 2 days of lunch. Burgers, soups, and sandwiches are all good. We often get catered foods from here and have events at their location. The lasagne is always a hit at any dinner meeting. A place like this is truly the heart of Springfield.

“Overrated”
Reviewed May 18, 2012

The Pump Cafe is overrated. The regulars love it, but I say it's worth going there only once, for unique atmosphere. The noise level is unmanageable, and it is so noisy as to make visiting difficult, if not impossible. While there is nothing wrong with the food, it isn't anything to brag about, either. There are at least two other locally owned restaurants in Springfield which offer equally fun atmosphere, consistently excellent food, and better prices.

“Depends on who you ask”
Reviewed April 3, 2012

This little (former gas station) restaurant is smack downtown in old Springfield, its small, and right on the main drag. Some people love it, and some find it more spendy than spectacular, I am in the 2nd group. The Springfield chi-chi (if you can call them that) like the place. To be fair, downtown Springfield is not exactly a place to eat, there is nothing to write about there, so this may be one of the "better" of an unspectacular group of places.

“Great food and great service in a unique setting”
Reviewed March 16, 2012

You're not likely to get "gas" in this gas station motif establishment but your will get some of the best food in town and promp friendly service. They have wonderful entrees and splendid desserts. Each meal is made from the best produce and meats available. The servings are huge and the atnosphere is "Downtown Springfield". It is a favorite of the business crowd and local residents alike. The coffee is great too! You won't be disappointed in the quality, freshness and taste of anything.
