We expected a good dinner...but were amazed! Now we have two great options in Sisters--The Porch and Jen's. Everything was excellent...our house guests commented that what was beyond expectations was that each dish was unique and wonderful. And the deserts...we didn't think we wanted desert, but after they came we wondered how we could have done without them.

Our first visit to this charming restaurant based on a recommendation of a golfing partner. We really enjoyed dining in this updated old home in Sisters. You can dine on the small porch or inside where they can accommodate small- medium sized parties by pushing tables together. A great place for an inexpensive dinner. We shared the delicious Greek salad and then ordered 3 tapas plates to share. We had thick cut sweet potato fries drizzled with delicious cilantro sour cream. The shrimp curry plate and moussaka casserole (lamb and bison! and came with bread to soak up the sauce) were delicious! The orders are good sized so the two of us were quite satisfied when finished! What fun having the chef walk around visiting with diners at each table! It was a warm night, so just wish they had a bit more air movement...Recommend reservations!

Previously, Jen's Garden was the only really good place to eat in town. Now we have another option. The Porch has small plates, a full bar, and a great chef.

Chef Caryl Hosler has satisfied palates in Sisters at Jen's Garden and Thyme. Now ready to take on her own establishment, her skills and individuality shine. My husband and I enjoyed a wonderful collection of small plates from the trout fritters and romaine and radishes salad, with a yummy horseradish dressing, to the moussaka. Each preparation was distinctive and evenly flavored. The wine list was moderately priced with several unique selections. Our Spanish red was delicious and a perfect match with our eclectic selections. Splitting the lemon bread pudding with plump Oregon blueberries was a perfect way to end our meal. We are so excited to have a new, reasonably priced "date night" spot in Sisters. Hooray for Caryl and her team.

Just opened in July, 2012, this is an informal place to share small plates, plus there are a couple of "all mine" entrees. Located in an old home, there are inside and outside tables. Judging by the crowd on a mid-week evening, a reservation may be necessary. The choices were innovative, and our picks were really delicious. We were told the menu changes daily. I'm hoping the bacon-wrapped, blue-cheese-stuffed dates are available again the next time we go! The chef has worked in Sisters restaurants Jen's Garden and the now-closed Thyme. This is a fun new choice to eat lightly (or not!) but still get to try fresh culinary ideas! It is not a bar type of atmosphere, so I think kids who are reasonably adventurous eaters would like being here.
