“Great place to golf.”
Reviewed August 5, 2013

The greens were great, but the staff was not. They would not move or stop working the greens when I was playing through. Very rude of them. I told the manager and they said sorry! Wow thanks!

“Beautiful course”
Reviewed June 17, 2013

This is a beautiful course with an amazing view. This is a great course for all levels of players; there are a few lay-up holes but they are not intimidating. Water comes into play on about 7 holes but again, nothing intimidating. This is a very woman friendly course.

Regarding reviews that talk about the sand bunkers - yes, I was in them and they are filled with finely crushed red lava rock and my club did not get ruined; I've been in traps that have NO sand and/or large river rocks.

The staff is very welcoming and friendly, they couldn't do enough for us. This was our first time playing here and we will play again during our one month visit to Bend.

“Beautiful”

Incredible course with best views in Oregon. Great restaurant and friendly staff. Perfect course for me and my son. Grab a reuben at the cafe- best I've ever eaten. Fees were reasonable and the weather was perfect.

“Great course”
Reviewed March 14, 2013

I like playing the course, but one thing I hate about the course is that they have red sand in the bunkers so you better stay out of them. If you go in them and hit out you will mess up your clubs

Thank you for visiting Aspen Lakes. The bunker sand is made from crushing red cinders that are natural to the area. The cinder material is, in fact, softer than the standard white silica sand and easier on clubs. In most cases, the damage that golfers attribute to the red sand is actually the red dust being more visible in existing scratches. Most golfers prefer hitting out of the red sand because it has a more consistent feel regardless of whether it is wet or dry.
