“Beautiful Country, Beautiful Gardens, Beautiful Hotel”
Reviewed April 25, 2013

We stayed at this hotel due to a package the hotel offered. Dinner and a bottle of wine were included in package. All were so enjoyable, as was the every staff member we encountered. The front desk was efficient, the restaurant was very comfortable to be in and situated on property to have beautiful views. The food was a bit basic but the value/quality was spot on. Their wine included in package was a pleasant surprise as I would not have expected such a great pinot noir in this package. In the two days were there, we had three meals in the restaurant while we were there and I was pleased with all. The wait staff takes good care of you and you get the feeling they like people and their jobs. We enjoyed treatments in the Resort's Spa. I chose and neck/shoulder massage and Thea worked on my tight muscles and is a pleasant individual. I would go back. The suites are laid out with about six per building. Our pet friendly suite have was very clean, bed was comfortable and had plenty of seating inside and on small patio outside. I would recommend this hotel for all reasons. Tour of Oregon Gardens was so enjoyable and that place is LOVED. All growing things are thriving. Oregon should be proud of this paradise in the countryside of Oregon. You appreciate the quieter side of life, the agriculture being grown, the care and consideration to profit from a beautiful part of this great state. The town of Silverton is so quaint...treat yourself to a drive or walk around and reminisce about the great things or years gone by........

Room Tip: Our pet friendly suite was further away from the hotel main building and I liked the placement of th...

If you want quiet, relaxation, peace and restoration this is the place to go. The resort is located in a beautiful country setting with lots of flowers and shrubs everywhere. The rooms are located on a street with six rooms to each home. Not a lot of hustle and bustle. It is quiet and relaxed. Through the gate from the resort are the Oregon Gardens. You can take the small people mover bus or take a relaxing walk in all of the gardens. Dinners at the Oregon Garden Resort are wonderful. The appetizers are something to remember. My wife had the spa and came back in the best mood ever. If there was a downside it was the breakfasts. They were minimal, lack luster and should be missed if possible. No potatoes, very little variety, and would be something to be found at the cheapest motel in town. They need 5 more heated, cooked foods that shows they care and are part of a resort experience. Real improvement is needed at the breakfast table. On the day that you make your reservation also make your reservation for the spa and dinners. If you don't all of the time slots will be taken when the busses roll in!!!! The room was clean, new, extremely quiet, had a great TV and had a gas fireplace. The bed was perfect, pillows were perfect, and with the widow open all night we heard no cars, noises, and only had fresh clean air.

After a 5-mile hike at Silver Falls State Park with its many waterfalls and glorious trail along the river and through the woods, I drove a short 15 miles through the rolling countryside to reach Oregon Garden Resort. The Resort has a unique layout, with a main building that houses the restaurant and lounge, lobby and separate buildings that each contain 6 rooms. My room had a comfortable king bed with its own private deck that looked out over trees in the Oregon Garden. Room was spacious and felt private. Duck nachos in the fireside lounge were a treat! From the grounds outside the restaurant I watched a bright yellow sun set and turn the sky & clouds shades of orange and pink. Rooms come with breakfast & entry into the Oregon Garden. You can walk the Garden paths or ride a tram where the driver gives a narrative of the Garden history and development. The breakfast was adequate, except for watery orange juice. Would be helpful if they offered some healthier options with more protein and lower in calories, fats and sugars. Added bonus of my room package: entry into the Wooden Shoe Tulip Festival in nearby Woodburn. Excellent value for all that was included at this top-end resort. Staff were all friendly and eager to please. Spacious outdoor hot tub for soaking!

The Oregon garden resort was the perfect location for a mini vacation to stop and enjoy the beautiful outdoors. To literally unplug and smell the flowers. The spa, restaurant, fireside room and gardens were just right and reasonably priced.

We had a lovely little getaway here: a few days of peace and quiet and blooming things to enjoy. The room was very clean and spacious, and we appreciated the fireplace, the little patio (with camellias in full bloom – gorgeous), fridge, and most of all, comfy bed. Pillows were okay, not great. Traveling with a dog is sort of a new experience for us, but we all did really well, and appreciated being able to bring her. We've heard some horror stories about being stuck in pet-friendly rooms, but this was quite nice and lovely. Access to walking spots was easy. The gardens were beautiful, Silverton was charming, and we loved the tulips at the Wooden Shoe farm (not too far away, but ask for directions). Next time, we're bringing a bucket so we can buy armloads of tulips.

My husband and I found this resort through a TravelZoo deal. And what a deal it was! The resort is in a cute town with lots of little shops to poke around in and the gardens are amazing. It was raining the entire time we were there, but even in the spring rain the garden had lots to look at.

Wine tasting, waterfall watching, and garden strolling was a perfect way to celebrate a birthday.

(My only suggestion would be to update the restaurant. The plastic tablecloths and decor would make a world of difference.)

Like others have said, this place is just right if you are looking for beautiful, restful place to spend a few days. My wife and I especially appreciated how tranquil the whole environment at the Oregon Garden resort is. We were fortunate to be given a room in the Quince lodge that looks right into the Discovery Forest. Very restful! The dinner and breakfasts were wonderful and it was so pleasant to have the Oregon Garden available to take strolls in after our meals. The Travelzoo package gave us great ideas on what to do in the Silverton and Sublimity areas, too!
For those looking for local history, besides the Silverton historical society, there is a fascinating 19th century Catholic church and museum at St Boniface in Sublimity. Check out its website, too!
