We heard about Cowboy Dinner Tree by word of mouth and started making plans to go. We made our reservations several months in advance so we could stay in one of the cabins. It was truly worth the wait!!! We decided to detour to Fort Rock to make the most of our visit since we came from Eugene but that is another review...When we arrived it was very busy with several friendly people waiting outside to be seated. Trees, benches and a lot of "Cowboy decor" are part of the great atmosphere. Once we were seated our waitress Amy came right over an got us started with a friendly smile, a huge mason jar of pink lemonade and a salad. She very cheerfully took care of each person making sure everyone felt welcome and her quick service was amazing! Angel the owner was working at the same pace cheerfully making sure everything was just right. Next came the cowboy bean soup and hot home made yeast rolls, about this time Amy cautioned us to pace ourselves as there was a lot more food to come. Next was the amazing 36-40 oz steak for my husband, a beautiful whole chicken for me-both moist tasty mmmmmm!!! and gigantic baked potato, last but not least dessert-apple crisp or strawberry shortcake...Yummy! We then waddled our way to our cute and cozy cabin with all of our left overs to tuck into the cooler we had been advised to bring. In the morning we had left overs for breakfast with coffee as we watched the sunrise and jack rabbits hopping around nearby. We had so much fun-already making plans to come back. Thanks to all at the Cowboy dinner tree for such a wonderful mini vacation.
