This was our 1st trip to Seaside. We used to live close to NJ beaches, and so it takes some getting used to when visiting the PAC. NW. The ocean is freezing cold, but clear. I missed not being able to gather shells with the kid's. Yet the sand is so fine, light colored, and soft! This made walking (what felt like 1 mile to get from the boardwalk to the water) kind of difficult, and challenging with little ones. Prepare to carry 3 & younger, or it will take you a long time (even when it's high tide). The entertainment in Seaside is not great. The 10+ min walk to the boardwalk got old. But we made the best of it, because it was warm & sunny & the hotel was wonderful. Except the pool. Yes, as someone said, it was cold. And small. It's not a pool you'd want to spend longer than 10 min in. But due to the cost of the hotel, we let the kid's have their extended pool time. (we have been spoiled in the past w/ trips to the GWL water park). The hotel has coupons for an Italian restaurant. Don't go. Being Italian, this was the worst food we've ever tasted. There's a nice/popular Italian restaurant (but noisy as it's connected to huge arcade) on the boardwalk. I know this is supposed to be about the hotel, but the whole beach experience was not really worth the cost of the hotel (the main cost of the trip). Save your $ & fly somewhere warmer with definite sun. It got to be depressing to constantly hear that the weather is rarely sunny & warm. We got lucky. The day we left, the clouds (dense mist) rolled in & I couldn't wait to get out of there. We also drove to beach with Haystack rock & parking was scarce, we were too far to walk to Haystack rock, & the wind was unbearable! People own homes there? Why? Sand was forever blowing everywhere. We made the best of it & so that was our shortest beach trip ever. Our kid's liked the swings on the beach @ Seaside. And we had fun watching the sun set while recreating Mt. Rainier out of sand. God forbid there's a tsunami, there's no running on that beach in that powder like sand. It would be like running in quick sand. So the hotel is beyond perfection. But, we couldn't enjoy the balcony due to excessive stinky mildew on the balcony surface. And I wouldn't pay more for river view. The river is more like a ditch full of smelly green water. Nothing pretty to look at. The hotel parking lot is tiny, but we always had a spot. Don't go when events are going on. (Hood to Coast, etc). The elevator was slow. I wish there was some sort of mat to wipe sandy feet on before tracking into the hotel room. We had to request our room to be cleaned & swept. It was missed. House cleaning promised to come back later, and never did. Main bath shower had sand on the shower bottom. The windows inside & screen smelled like mildew (& mildew could be seen) so cracking the window was not great for my mold allergies. The breakfast was 'ok'. We had 2 BR's. The angles to the rooms is goofy...and makes it difficult to feel comfortable in the 1st room. It's stuffy feeling. At least we could keep the window open in that room. Lastly, our toddler had a 4'+ mirror fall off the wall right near him in the hallway. Thankfully he was fine & the mirror didn't break. But it fell due to it not being secured properly. Overall, when I take a vacation, I want to see things & feel away from home. The hotel is like a home. We ended up staying 3 nights. Two is probably enough for Seaside. I do wish they had more than 2 luggage carts. That was a little ridiculous to check in & have to take 6 trips. Again, save your $ & visit a warm beach! Hope this helps! :)

Staff was fantasic. Breakfast was awesome. And they had free wine in the lobby from 5-6pm. Loved the fact that they had a washer & dryer in the room. They even had a full kitchen. When I went to make coffee the next morning our coffee maker was broken so I went down stairs and told them. By the time I made it in the door one of the staff was knocking on the door with our new coffee maker. We will definitely stay here again. We were very impressed.

We had a wonderful stay, this is our second annual Spring Break trip. The staff is always friendly and courteous. One of our light bulbs went out and they came up and fixed it immediately. Everything was very clean and the breakfast provided had many choices to choose from. The suite was nicely stocked with dishes, etc. and it was great to have a washer & dryer (soap was even included). Also, the hour from 5-6 that included drinks and snacks was very nice. This is the only place my daughter wants to stay when we visit Seaside.

I stay at the Rivertide Suites whenever I come to Seside, be it professional or personal. The suites are spacious and come with nearly everything one needswhile travelling. The amenities in each suite include washer and dryer, kitchen, Internet, gas fireplace, etc make the stay nice during summer or winter. The riverside rooms provide a nice veiw of the Necanicum River, downtown Seaside, and Tillamook Head. The Tillamook Trailhead is only a few miles away for avid hikers who travel to the area. There are also small boats and ski-doos for rent, which you can see right outside your window. The interesting downtown area and the beach are just a few minutes walk.
