“Good, basic seafood, served in large portions”
Reviewed September 16, 2013

Dooger's was packed when we went in on a mid-week night in the off-season. There's a reason. It has probably the most straightforward and complete seafood menu in the neighborhood, so if you've got finicky eaters (which we did), you and they will find something to eat. The food and the service were both quite good. The crab cakes were prepared as they should be: lots of crab and little filler. The pan-fried oysters were nicely done and not greasy. We didn't save room for dessert, because we cleaned our plate and were quite full afterwards. It's not haute cuisine, but sometimes well-prepared basic food is a beautiful thing.

“Very good gluten free fish and chips and clam chowder.”
Reviewed September 6, 2013 via mobile

We came back twice just so I could have the gluten free fish and chips. So any meal that is breaded they will do gluten free. Nice
Service was very good both times as was the food. Not outstanding but still good and that they cater to gluten free needs is wonderful.

“Good but pricey”
Reviewed September 6, 2013 via mobile

Someone suggested this place and we really enjoyed it. I wish we would have asked about the prices. We were looking for a less expensive place. It's not a fast food restaurant. We had 2 bowls of DELICIOUS chowder, 1crab sandwich, 1 cod & chips, 2 orders of clam strip=$60. It was yummy.

“Good First Stop”
Reviewed September 5, 2013

We drove from Portland straight to Seaside after flying from Chicago. Temperature in portland was 91 and Seaside 59. We walked the main street to the Lewis & Clark monument and turn-around. Headed the other way, checked Trip Advisor and choose Doogers. Beat the rush by seating at 6:00pm. At 7:00 there was an extended line and wait. Food was great and more importantly service was awesome and attentive.

“Great food”
Reviewed September 5, 2013

We ate here Labor Day weekend, and we loved it. You can choose to eat a expensive meal (~30 a plate) or you could choose a modest meal of around $10-15 a plate. You could have salads, hamburgers, sandwiches, fish and chips, sea food, steak, pasta.. Anything you want you can get it here. I had the fish and chips and loved it. The breading was not thick, and the fish was not overpowering. My husband had a hamburger and French frys and said it was one of the better ones he had. I also had a shrimp salad for starters, and really enjoyed it.
We took our 1 year old daughter here and they were extremely accommodating for our needs. Found us a place where she could still sit in her stroller and not move her (most restaurants don’t allow strollers in eating areas). Felt like this was a nice family establishment. I would eat here again.
