Dooger's was packed when we went in on a mid-week night in the off-season. There's a reason. It has probably the most straightforward and complete seafood menu in the neighborhood, so if you've got finicky eaters (which we did), you and they will find something to eat. The food and the service were both quite good. The crab cakes were prepared as they should be: lots of crab and little filler. The pan-fried oysters were nicely done and not greasy. We didn't save room for dessert, because we cleaned our plate and were quite full afterwards. It's not haute cuisine, but sometimes well-prepared basic food is a beautiful thing.
