“Would stay here again!!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 6, 2013

We came over for just one night, would loved to have stayed longer. We were pleasantly surprised by the older hotel, very nice amenities, clean and beds were comfortable. We stayed in a bottom level room, #29. The view was awesome! The owners were very nice people and very helpful. Will definitely plan on staying here again next time we are in Seaside!
Thanks again!

This has to be the best room in Seaside (Lanai #47). Top floor, end of building, & the balcony opens straight onto the Cove. We watched black turnstones & oystercatchers & Heerman's gulls on the rocky beach below, with surfers in the background & the beach stretching North from Seaside to Gearhart. ( The Lanai is in a quiet beach neighborhood, & NOT on the main touristy drag strip of Seaside) Fire spaces in the rocks made a great spot to grill some oysters, & the (outdoor) pool was clean & heated to the perfect temperature. I'm not sure how we got #47 on short notice, but it's where we will look again next time we stay in Seaside.

Room Tip: Try for the top floor so you don't have Heffalumps tromping around overhead. The walls ARE sort...

Hello Will B.,
We are so glad that you enjoyed your stay with us here at the Lanai
and you were more than happy with your unit. Unit #47 was just completely
redecorated and is a really sweet space. Thank you so much for your
review.

First, let me say that the location was beautiful. Second, let me say that the staff was very friendly. There were some niceties such as chocolate shells and the pool. There were also obvious attempts at updating the room (although some aspects were dated).

BUT, I couldn't justify giving this a "5" and even feel generous with a "4." The walls were paper thin and we could hear everything from the room next to us (who had a crying baby, but we could even hear the parents). Also, we brought our children. The sleeper sofa was so bad that we had to put the mattress on the floor. Granted, most sleeper sofas are bad, but this one was particularly bad.

I don't think I would seek out staying at this hotel, but if someone said that they were going and would we go too, then I would.

Greetings from the Lanai,
Thank you for your review and for letting us know how we can be better.
Sofabed mattresses are one of the biggest challenges in the hotel
industry. We will look into that and address the issue asap. Better
soundproofing between units is another item we are working on. Thank you
for staying with us and please know we are working hard to resolve these
issues.

My husband and I stayed for one night (August 2, 2013) in Room 21 after a long day of travel up the Oregon Coast. The staff was exceptional and treated us like family. Our room was quiet, cozy and clean, decorated in a nautical theme so appropriate for the seaside. And the bed was so comfortable! What more could weary travelers ask for? Oh, but there was more, with a nicely equipped kitchenette (even had wine glasses no less) that would be well suited for a longer stay. Alas, we took an early morning walk on the beach to relax and rejuvenate before hitting the road again. The ocean front at the Lanai was rocky, but the sandy beach was easily accessible by trail not far from the hotel. Although brief, it was a delightful experience and we would love to come back again for a longer stay. Thank you.

We took a chance and were pleasantly surprised by this hotel. Right on the bay with rooms overlooking the ocean. Surfers on the waves. Clean and well kept hotel. This is a hidden gem thAt should be visited. A small kitchen with refrigerator and cooking. If parking down below watch the height as it is 5'6" in one spot. Be sure to get driving directions as it's not on the main drag which is good.

Hello Bob D,
Thank you for taking a chance to stay with us, it sounds as though you had a nice stay. We are glad that you were here on a day when the surfers were out. It is always such a plus to get to watch them from your room or balcony as well. Please be sure to check out our winter rates and specials. We seem to have many more surfers during that time of the year, not to mention, awesome winter storms. Thank you so much for your review and we look forward to having you stay with us again

We stayed a few days in July. The staff is fantastic. Very friendly and helpful. The hotel is right on the ocean. If it's clear, you'll have a great sunset. It was July, so lots of families and kids. Note: the beach is rocky not sandy. I found walking on the rocks very difficult. A sandy beach is within walking distance. We spent most of our time at Cannon Beach, only 15 minutes south.

Greetings from the Lanai,
Thank you for all your kind words and of course your review. You are so right about the sunsets, and to get the chance to sit out on your back patio while watching the sun go down is so relaxing and enjoyable. Since we are so centrally located, you don't have to go far to find the sand for an easy walk along the beach. We look forward to having you again.
