A couple of thing s to keep in mind when booking
1. Each unit is different, what you see in the picture is what you get.
2 The place is well taken care of BUT you will hear your neighbors because of its age
3. Yes it has has wi-fi But the speed is slow
4 Yes the ocean is right outside your door BUT the beach is rocky
5 The pool is tiny
But if your looking for a great inexpensive get away it is hard to beat

Room Tip: ?Check photo's on their website so you know what your getting

My husband and I and another couple have stayed here for the last couple of years and we totally loved it. So I decided to bring the family there for vacation weekend. We rented four of the patio ocean view rooms and it was the best weekend ever. Each one of the kids had a room with their family's and we had a room. The 3 older granddaughters would go from room to room and to the bonfire and we didn't have to worry about them running in the halls. The two smaller 1 and 2 year old girls could wonder along the patio cause it has the little wall around it so it was perfect for them to play and go back and fourth. They have the kitchenette for snacks or beverages (don't cook on vacations). It was so nice to have the whole family together finally and The Lanai at the Cove was the perfect place for it..... So in august I brought my mom and her sisters and us daughters (moms and daughters annual 4 day weekend) to here and they loved it and we already have reservations for next year. No matter where we have gone you can't get the ocean view like this on the ground floor to the patio for someone in a wheel chair. This was so perfect for that, for one of my aunts. She is the reason we do this trip and this place beat all others so far.

Pros -Well run, nice hosts, right on beach, clean, our room was very pretty (rooms vary I think)
cons- a mile or so from "town",
we had noise from the room below, could hear talking and tv-
evidently whoever built it saved a few bucks on insulation in the floor/ceiling. They could still fix it- 2 layers of sheetrock would help. People are against government regulation but I think there needs to be building codes for motels.

I am glad I picked the Lanai after seeing the rest of Seaside. It was away from the busy part of the town and was very easy to get to. I stayed in an oceanfront room on the first floor. The room was plenty big for me, as I was traveling alone. There was a small kitchen, nice sized bathroom, flat screen TV, large bed and a sofa. The view and access to the beach was great. My only complaint would be how dated the room was. It could definitely use an upgrade and the patio area right outside consisted of 2 plastic chairs and a tiny side table. The price did seem good for an oceanfront room in summer, however for the price I'd appreciate a more attractive room.
Overall it was great and I got a good nights sleep and woke up and listened to the ocean.

We chose the Lanai based on some family members that have stay there several times. Unfortunately the room types, styles ect vary drastically since they are privately owned. The room we stayed in was very old. Nothing updated, no counter space to prepare food. Oddly enough, you have to go through the one bathroom to get to the only bedroom. NOT good with a family. The hosts were not very accommodating. The pool happened to be closed for maintenance the day after we arrived. When we threatened to find another place to stay, suddenly the pool was up and running. Not a family friendly place. It felt as though the managers were watching every move we made. We will find another place to stay next time we make a trip to Seaside!

My wife and I stayed at the Lanai for two nights - we really enjoyed our stay. Barbara and Donna were really nice hostesses. The check in process was very easy and we felt "at home" right away. The location of the hotel is not right in town but a very short drive from the center of Seaside. The rooms were very clean and had all the amenities we needed. But in case you need wheel-chair access, it's better to take the lower levels.

Having a WI-FI connection was good as I needed to get e-mails while on the trip. But the best part was being so close to the beach but you feel safe because it's far away enough. The sound of the waves lapping the shorelines was so nice and relaxing. At night you can see the waves coming onto the shore when the lights turn on. . It was a very nice experience. We definitely recommend staying at the Lanai. We will be back.

Room Tip: The rooms facing the ocean are the best rooms.

The staff was exceptional. The room was beautifully decorated. Everything we needed was in the room and it was so comfortable and relaxing. The location was perfect RIGHT on the ocean and near downtown but still feels secluded and privet. It was the perfect vacation and we wish we could have stayed for weeks!!! We will definitely be returning customers and will recommend this hotel highly.
