My wife and I skipped hosting a traditional Thanksgiving meal this year, and instead we took our kids to Seaside for a couple of restful days at the coast. Inn at the Prom has a fantastic location on the Promenade in Seaside, just next to the large WorldMark by Wyndham location. It doesn't get much better, location-wise, as the beach is steps away, and you can easily walk to restaurants and shops in downtown Seaside. Yet I've given this an "average" rating on account of the accommodations. We stayed in room # 2, a "queen suite with full kitchen." It's true that this is a suite—there's a small living room when you enter the room with the "full kitchen" on the left and the sleeper sofa on the right. The queen bedroom is through a door off the living area, and the bathroom with double jet tub is off of the bedroom. Unfortunately, everything about the suite is small. The living area is just large enough for the sleeper bed to be unfolded. The "full kitchen" is so-called because it includes a range, microwave, sink, and refrigerator, but it would be very difficult to actually cook anything in it. The sink is smaller than the bathroom sink, indeed smaller than many bar sinks, and has no disposal. The fridge is a dorm-sized fridge, and there's about 18 inches square of counter space. The trash can in the "full kitchen" is smaller than the bathroom trash can. Meanwhile, the queen bedroom has almost no floor room whatsoever. The bed takes up almost the entire space. There are no side tables, as there's no room. No place to put a book, your glasses, a phone that might be used for an alarm clock (no room for an alarm clock!). The only place to put your luggage is on a luggage stand in the closet—no drawers of any kind and no floor space to speak of. Additionally, the windows have the cheapest of mini-blinds covering them, and our bedroom was lit up all night long by the many building lights just outside on an adjacent building. There was no way to keep the room dark. The bathroom is nicely done—nice tile work above the bathtub, the jet tub is wonderful, etc.—but here too there are problems: the toilet has a mismatched lid that makes it impossible to raise the seat; it falls closed if it's not held. Major annoyance that could be easily remedied. So while the location is terrific, the room we stayed in leaves many things to be desired. Hopefully some of them can be dealt with for the benefit of future travelers.

This place was really nice. It was really close to the boardwalk and all the shopping. We had a nice relaxing time and the jacuzzi tub was really nice. Super large bathroom. The bed was very comfortable and we both slept really well.

Room Tip: If you want an ocean view, avoid the rooms with a queen size bed. We accidently got put in a different room at first and even though it was nice and clean, it wasn't what we booked. We got it all taken care of. We stayed in room 15. It wasn't right next to the hallway door and we're glad for that. I don't think that we would have heard the traffic but you never know. 15 is in the middle of 2 rooms. It was really nice.

We just happened on the inn at the Prom, and I'm glad we did. Clean, well-appointed rooms. Ours had two rooms, a queen bed and couch bed, and an efficiency kitchen. Just steps from the beach and a block from the main drag and its many restaurants. I couldn't ask for better accommodation.
It was perfect. Highly recommended. I'll stay here again and recommend it to any who will listen. The person at the front desk was most helpful.

Room Tip: Our room was in a pretty row of "cottages". If you want an ocean view, be sure to ask for it. These accommodations are larger, with small patios, and undoubtedly more costly. I was quite satisfied with ours.

Wonderful rooms, comfortable beds, gas fireplaces and the best jacuzzi tub ever! Right on the Promenade, close to the main hub. Excellent customer service at the front desk. Free movies, fruit for breakfast. A great value.

Room Tip: All the rooms are nice here

We stayed here two nights on our first trip the Oregon coast. Inn at Prom is right on the beach and within walking distance of lots of food and shops. The rooms are nice and well appointed. I enjoyed the fireplace and jetted tub.

Downsides were the fact that the wireless internet didn't work most of the time (during our two night stay it only worked for a couple hour period one day). We were in a one bedroom unit which had a TV only in the living room. Minor complaint, but it would have been nice to have one in the bedroom. Finally, the room was just a little worn, paint and such. It was clean though.

Definitely a good value. I enjoyed Seaside, but Cannon Beach was definitely nicer.

Recommend seafood at Norma's (clam chowder is great), breakfast at Pig n' Pancake, and if you make it down to Cannon Beach, highly recommend Lazy Susan Cafe (breakfast and lunch only).
