“Perfect trail for hiking lovers”
Reviewed July 22, 2012 via mobile

Muddy but it's worth to walk among such a great forest. If you REALLY love hiking this is your trail. Not crowded, it's clean and quiet. The trail drives you through a wet forest, if you're lucky probably you'll walk among clouds which will make your experience almost mystical.
Advice: don't forget a second pair of shoes and (dry) socks. And water.

“View is a 10 but the slick mud is a big 0”
Reviewed July 17, 2012

The mud was horrible going from Ecola to Indian Beach. I ended up turning around and driving the car to Indian Beach and continuing. Not only was it muddy but it was scarry narrow and no room for error in one spot or you could fall a long ways down. They don't tell you this when you inquire at the toll booth but they should!!

“Old growth forest”
Reviewed May 24, 2012

Trees that are thousands of years old- amazing views of the Pacific Ocean- 1000 foot elevation change so a great workout- not a cigarette butt or granola bar wrapper to be found! Be prepared with food and drink- you will be out for 4-6 hours!

“Rugged but worth it.”
Reviewed April 30, 2012

The trail is steep and rocky with many exposed tree roots as well at the north (Seaside) end but gets less severe as you near Ecola St Park. Several breathtaking views (be careful looking over, no restraining fence) of the Pacific and gorgeous forest settings abound from the peak down. Not for the less fit and pedestrians only will be able to navigate the obstacles.

“The views are to die for....”
Reviewed April 1, 2012

If you have the time, take a half day or longer to explore Tillamook Head. The views are INCREDIBLE! Last time I was out there, you could look straight down at some grey whales who were resting during their long migration from Mexico to Alaska.
