“It's Seaside, not the Bahamas”
Reviewed August 8, 2013 via mobile

To put things in perspective, considering that thud is Seaside and not a private luxury beach somewhere in the world, Maggie's was a welcome sanctuary from all the kitschy restaurants in the area.

While not a luxury restaurant, it's probably the most decent and sophisticated-looking place out there. Either you want a good meal or a corn dog near the beach. Your choice.

I disagree with some of the reviews saying the food was awful. It's actually pretty good.

While the food is good, I have to agree with some reviewers that it's a bit disproportionately on the expensive side.

But then again, for context, they probably, like all other businesses at Seaside, only make money in the summer. So, I theorize, they jac up their prices. Understandable.

Overall, for Seaside, this is probably the best food out there. Also, probably the quietes. Away from all the screaming kids and corn dogs.

“Worth a romantic evening”
Reviewed August 5, 2013

We did not have reservations and were greeted warmly. Seated by the window was one step in a romantic evening. Yes, we could have made the same meal at home as the preparation was done simply. Yet, simple served us well this evening. We would be willing to return to this setting.

“Just ok.”
Reviewed August 4, 2013

Food was fine. I thought it would be better based on reviews. Decor less than expected and spartan selection of wine and spirits to have with dinner.

“Service?”
Reviewed July 26, 2013

My wife and I showed up to eat around 16:45 for happy hour. Reviews said it was excellent so we decided to give it a try. Sat there for 10 minutes and had two waitresses pass us and not great us or ask us for anything so we decided to get up and leave. Wouldn't recommend it to anyone, plus outside dining isn't spectacular by any means.

“Great food for grown-ups in a touristy beach town plagued with children”
Reviewed July 13, 2013

Maggie's in an oasis of good food beautifully prepared and plated attractively. My husband told me his cioppino was among the best he had ever ordered, and it was chock full of a generous variety of seafood. I had grilled cornish game hen which was prepared well and accompanied by tasty scalloped potatoes. We both fronted our main courses with a delicious salad. Service was friendly and efficient. This is a fantastic place to escape the noise and crowds of town and enjoy a quiet, delicious meal. The view of the sun setting over the Pacific cannot be beat.
