A lovely, old-fashioned experience. I enjoyed my stay very much. Great breakfast variety/choices/quality! The surrounding resorts and tourist tat are no great surprise; the Gilbert Inn recalls a time when Seaside was a smaller, even sleepier place...

Great place to stay! Short walking distance to beach and town. Friendly welcoming staff, and town, too! Definitely will return. Strolling along the Promenade, even in December wind & rain, was so relaxing and uplifting

Thank you for your review. So glad you enjoyed your stay even with the crazy coastal weather.

Friendly front desk staff and a great breakfast in the sun room. The attention to detail was great... a black washcloth embroidered with the words "makeup remover"...a genius touch for female guests. There are board games to play. This house was built in the 1800's and the decor reflects this, so a vacation here is like going back in time, four poster beds and all.

We booked a room at the last minute for a get away from Portland for New Year's Eve. The staff was very accommodating for a late check in (and even allowed a little later check out the next morning.) The breakfast was lovely, and we enjoyed the historic aspect of the home. Our stay couldn't have been better. We will definitely stay again when we come to Seaside.
