Whether you are staying for only one night or one week, the Hopewell Bed and Breakfast, located outside of Salem, Oregon, will surely meet the needs of an individual, couple, or family. The accomodations are fairly new and show superb attention to details of construction and comfort . Well equipped kichtenettes allow for cooking lunches or barbecue dinners as weather allows. A hot tub is available for guest useage as well as a swimming hole as weather allows too. The landscaped grounds are well-laid out and attract a variety of local birds to the carefully sited bird feeders. The outstanding breakfasts provided by Penny Walsh are varied, well-planned balanced, gourmet breakfasts which rate a five star AAA rating in our opinion. Both Mike and Penny offer local touring information, directions, and shopping advice to enhance each guest's appreciation of the greater Salem region located in the Yamhill Valley. For outstanding accomodations, superb food, friendly touring advice, guests will find a first class accomodation which will have you putting it on your return visit list for sure.

We wanted a special getaway for our 5th anniversary, so we picked this quiet country bed and breakfast in Oregon Pinot Noir country. Consequently, this was what our hosts offered us a glass of on arrival. Mike and Penny, our hosts, were very helpful in suggesting places to see (antique mall, vineyards, a fabulous aviation museum, etc.) After returning from a wonderful restaurant in nearby McMinnville, we soaked in the hot tub and watched the stars come out.
The next morning, Penny delivered our breakfast to our room. It just may be the best french toast we have ever had - complete with fresh berries and whipped cream! We were sad to leave this little oasis, but look forward to future anniversary trips there!

My wife and I spent 3 nights at the Hopewell B&B in December 2007. It was the best appointed room, if you can call a large bedroom, kitchenette, and private bath a "room," we've ever seen and it came with a wonderful view. Private entrance. Information re the local points of interest including wineries. Incredible food. And the warm and welcoming hospitality of the owners, Penny & Mike. We'll be back and we highly recommend it.

This bed and breakfast is the perfect getaway. The room was incredibly clean. The hunting lodge theme gave the room a touch of masculinity, while maintaining the warm and cozy feeling of a bed and breakfast room. The view out the window to the yard, pond, and grazing field was beautiful.

The food was amazing. It was clear that there was a lot of time and effort put into perfecting the menu. Our meals were excepional, and the hosts were very friendly.

Our hosts were able to recommend some great local wineries for us to sample wines at. We particularly enjoyed the Witness Tree Winery.

This was a wonderful vacation for us. We enjoyed our stay so much that we are planning another trip back. The Hopewell B&B was perfect.

This was my first expereince staying in a B&B and it was wonderful. The accomidations were very spacious and emaculate. The rooms were not only stocked with all the necessities but luxuries as well such as a fully stocked kitchen, movies, books, and any extra tolietires you might need. The grounds were beautiful!! Off my room was a relaxing patio that looked out over the koi pond and lake. One of my favorite extras was the jacuzzi on the patio. The hospitality of the hosts was better than I could have ever asked for. They were friendly and treated us as though we were a part of their family. The food was some of the best breakfasts I've ever had, expecially the baked french toast we got our first morning. The surrounding area is beautiful with plenty of wonderful wine tasting within minutes of the B&B. One of my favorites was the Bethel Heights winery. Next time I plan a trip to the Willamette Valley I will be sure to include this B&B on my trip. I wouldn't want to stay anywhere else!

The Hopewell B&B is the perfect pick for a relaxing getaway and a terrific base from which to explore the Willamette Valley.

The Place
The rooms are spotless and comfortable and come with all of the amenities a vacationer needs: fully stocked kitchenette, TV, books, DVDs, games, extra bedding and more. Deep comfortable chairs, modern bathrooms and country-style decoration make it truly luxurious.

Go outside and you are transported to a different world - the rolling hills of Yamhill spread out in impressive grandeur reminiscent of Tuscany. We spent many hours enjoying the quiet beauty of the surroundings from the comfort of one of the many chairs, benches and hammocks. At night, after using the BBQ and drinking our fill of the local wine, we watched the stars while soaking in the large, new outdoor hot tub. There's even a cute little fresh-water pond that I swam in daily when the afternoon sun reached its zenith.

The Breakfast
Wow - in a good way. The big, delicious breakfasts were out of control. We were blown away by the gourmet food, which was both opulent and healthy.

The People
B&Bs are as much about the people as they are about the rooms and food. Mike and Penny are cool West Coasters, who understand both hospitality and how to show their guests the best of the region. They gave us great tips on vineyards to visit, hikes to take, restaurants to try, activities to pursue and places to shop.

We found the Hopewell B&B so relaxing and enjoyable that we stayed an extra day and will definitely return.
