“Wow, Can't wait to go back!”
Reviewed January 18, 2014

We were heading down from Portland for a concert at the Elsinore Theatre and decided to pick a place for dinner before the concert. We booked our reservations online based on the Tripadvisor reviews ... WOW! When we arrived we were greeted as "old friends" and were immediately taken to our table. My husband and I shared a steak ... it was perfect and the presentation was excellent! The service was fantastic (Thank you Jennifer), the drinks were delicious and upon leaving the owner(?) called us by name and asked how our evening was. Even though it is an hour plus drive from our home we will be back ... hopefully soon!

“Best in Salem”
Reviewed January 1, 2014

We've eaten here many time. The negatives are minimal: slowish service and limited menu. The positives far outweigh these: pasta on par with real Italian restaurants, certainly the best in Salem. Caesar salad is the best around: crisp, cold, delicious and beautifully presented (worth the few extra dollars it costs). Limited steak menu, but excellent tenderloin. The appetizers are excellent, unusual and creative (witness the beef tongue and white beans and salsa). Fish is always well done. Sometimes it is a little hard to hear in the restaurant, especially when there is a piano player, but that is a small tradeoff for the excellent food.
Those who said it is not worth it, or the food is nothing special are obviously used to eating at Applebees. Nothing wrong with that, but DaVinci's is truly a very good restaurant by any measure, not just a place to get dinner.

“Vacation in Oregon”
Reviewed August 16, 2013

One of the best meals we had on vacation. The atmosphere was very nice and dispute being short handed the waitress took very good care of us. My son and I shared the special which was a shrimp and pasta dish. It was delicious.

“One of the Best meals We had in Salem”
Reviewed July 30, 2013

We were looking for a nice romantic evening. We walked into a beautiful space. the piano player was playing some old romantic tunes. The steak and salad were delicious. A nice juicy piece of meat my husband loved and my lovely mixed field greens. We sat upstairs with a full view of the bar area and lovely brick wall.
We will be back to this restaurant the next time we go to Salem.

“Delightful evening at Davinci's”
Reviewed July 1, 2013

We started the evening by enjoying happy hour outside. A glass of wine each and a shared pizza with pomodoro, Italian sausage and mozzarella. It was a nice thin crust pizza and the crust was slightly charred adding to the flavor nicely. Our waiter was very pleasant and it was a great start to the evening relaxing in the sun with wine and a great thin crust pizza.

We were led upstairs to a great table. The piano player really added to the atmosphere and we really enjoyed the selection of music that he played while we dined. Our waiter brought fresh bread out of the oven to the table. I think it was a foccaccia made with the same dough that was used on the pizza. It was accompanied by a delicious dip of olive oil, garlic and a bit of tobasco sauce. It had a nice little bit to it and was much nicer than the standard olive oil and vinegar. We had to restrain ourselves so we did not fill up on the bread. For entrees my husband and I both had the 1/2 chicken. We were able to substitute pasta for potato and vegetable at no additional charge. The chicken was truly amazing it was so moist and tender and it was perfectly seasoned. The skin was so crisp and aromatic. For dessert we shared an apple cinnamon pastry with vanilla ice cream.

We were at Davinci's for well over 2 hours and we enjoyed the whole evening immensely. My hubby said we would definitely have to make another stop here next time we're in Salem.

It was a truly memorable evening.
