Had an early family Christmas dinner at Bentley's Grill 12/21/13. Five of us, all adults, exchanged gifts, shared small plates, had cocktails, dinner and dessert. The small plates were a goat cheese dip, shrimp brochettes and pot stickers. All tasty. Nothing was "top of the mountain", but all good. That could be said for the rest of the meal, too, except for the only dinner "extra" any of us ordered, a Caesar salad. Total waste of time and money. Looked like someone ran out to the grocery store, bought a bag of chopped romaine, some bag croutons and a jar of prepared Caesar dressing and dumped it on a plate. The entrees we tried included braised lamb shank, NY steak, bistro steak, and pork tenderloin. The steaks were on the rare side, but very nicely seasoned and grilled. The shank was almost fall off the bone tender, with a nice "lamby" bite. The desserts were a chocolate and peanut butter torte, and a raspberry/lemoncello torte. Both were good, but the raspberry/lemoncello torte was thought rave-worthy by several of us. Service was good, friendly and professional. All in all, a successful holiday meal.

Wow! From the wine to the dinners to the dessert, from the ease of making reservations to incredible service Bentley's really went all out for us! Pre-Tedeschi Trucks Band concert, all 4 in our party had a wonderful experience.
I had the small plate scallops and a salad--I can only speak to how yummy my food was but everyone else seemed to enjoy theirs as well.

We read about Bentley's so wanted to go in for Happy Hour to check it out. It was great. We sat up at the bar and had a wonderful bartender with this great mustache. The drinks were just right and we had a couple HH salads and the goat cheese. This place is outstanding.

I was in town for a business meeting. A group of about 20 people was in our dinner party. We had a room to ourselves. The servers were very good and attentive, which can sometimes be a problem in large groups. Not here, everything was perfect. The food was delicious. I had the filet mignon and it was awesome. Surveying about 5 different people in my group, everyone thought that their meal was delicious, except one individual who thought his was a bit dry. He then admitted that food doesn't taste as good to him when he has been drinking, which he had been. If I get back to Salem, I will definitely eat at Bentley's Grill again.
