Had an early family Christmas dinner at Bentley's Grill 12/21/13. Five of us, all adults, exchanged gifts, shared small plates, had cocktails, dinner and dessert. The small plates were a goat cheese dip, shrimp brochettes and pot stickers. All tasty. Nothing was "top of the mountain", but all good. That could be said for the rest of the meal, too, except for the only dinner "extra" any of us ordered, a Caesar salad. Total waste of time and money. Looked like someone ran out to the grocery store, bought a bag of chopped romaine, some bag croutons and a jar of prepared Caesar dressing and dumped it on a plate. The entrees we tried included braised lamb shank, NY steak, bistro steak, and pork tenderloin. The steaks were on the rare side, but very nicely seasoned and grilled. The shank was almost fall off the bone tender, with a nice "lamby" bite. The desserts were a chocolate and peanut butter torte, and a raspberry/lemoncello torte. Both were good, but the raspberry/lemoncello torte was thought rave-worthy by several of us. Service was good, friendly and professional. All in all, a successful holiday meal.
