My husband and I spent 2 weeks at the Phoenix Inn and had one of the best hotel experiences in our memories. We were recommended this hotel by the real estate agent that we were working with and was she ever right. What a wonderful staff they have including front desk personnel (Travis, Rachel and Vanessa) and the breakfast server (Suzanne). We were greeted by name and made to feel like family. The location is perfect to get to just about anywhere in town. We were given all kinds of wonderful advice on restaurants, natural food stores and even a spectacular hair dresser close by. The indoor pool and hot tub are clean and not crowded. Our room was a double queen bed room which was a very nice size with refrigerator and microwave and coffee maker. While there, we had to wash clothes and their laundry room was certainly adequate and the washer and dryer were both gentle on all our clothes. The exercise room was very nice, but as usual, we did not get to use it (wink wink). Each afternoon, the front desk staff cooked up some awesome chocolate chunk cookies for their guests and each week day they had complimentary newspapers. While there, our room had a small issue that needed to be addressed and the maintenance person quickly came to our room and took care of the matter. Well done. Many thanks to management and staff for a delightful time and a wonderful facility.

ingrid s,

Wow! Thank you so much for your excellent review! We’re glad you enjoyed your stay. Our staff works very hard to provide our guests with consistently excellent customer service and accommodations and we’re glad you took notice to it. I’ll make sure to pass along your positive comments to the staff!

Salem's Phoenix is an almost perfect hotel! (It would have been 100% perfect except for a noticeably soiled bed throw.)

The hotel is centrally located, and is just 10 minutes from the Capital, downtown and the Riverfront Park.

The staff is very friendly and helpful, the rooms are large and well appointed, and the breakfast is generous and of high quality.

Room Tip: The ground floor rooms on the north side face a giant hedge, which provide both privacy and quiet.

This is a Good basic hotel South side of Salem a couple of mikes off the Hwy. . Staff were pleasant. Breakfast was good with standard hot/cold faire. They had coffee, juice, a couple of types of cereals, scrambled eggs, sausage patties, waffles.

Our room was clean and large. We ended up in a "Family room" which was even larger. Their family room is a room and a half with three beds and quite large. I reviewed the negative comments none we experienced and most were from 1-2 years ago.

Only complaint is the Air condition didn't work great. Hot or cold, didn't hold a temperature well.

We liked the location- which was convenient for us. It is in a newer, nicer area of town and we would stay here again.

Our room was clean, the bed was comfy and it was quiet. I stuck to the chairback in the breakfast room. The desk person lost one of our large party in the system so she missed an event, we could not find her. We were there only to sleep, and it provided that opportunity. It looked like a redo was in the works, that would be welcome. We would return, it fit our needs.

We made our reservation for a king room, we checked in, went to our room, and it was a double queen, we questioned why, and told the maintenance was not finished, not told of this when we checked in. They did adjust our room charge, Going to make coffee in the morning, there was coffee still in the pot. I did wash it out, but who knows how long it was there. With check out @ noon, about 10am housekeeping banged on our door asking how soon we would be checking out, not cool we stayed til about 11. The lady Suzanne in the breakfast room was friendly, and awesome, very impressed with here.
Not a good experience here, staff was friendly enough, room seemed clean. Just not overly impressed
