“Real Wines made by Real People”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 29, 2011

In this age of "brands" and "sameness", my visit to Hillcrest Vineyards was a revelation. Being a wine lover and collector, I get to taste many, many wines. So, let me tell you that these are "real" wines. I was most impressed with their "Right Bank" red blend, the Syrah, and their Riesling. Each wine made with the care and attention that wine drinkers expect. Also, you most likely to meet the owners there. They live, "on site".

To boot, this winery is the site of the oldest family estate in Oregon and was the location of the first Oregon Grape Growers meeting. History, dedication, family business, and great wines all add up to a must visit on your next trip to Roseburg.

“Saved the best for last”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 28, 2011

We had never been to the southern Oregon wineries and decided to plan a long wine-tasting weekend. After serveral stops in the Roseburg area, we stumbled upon Hillcrest Vineyards. Hands down the wines possessed the most depth and flavor compared to the other vineyards in the area. All their grapes are "dry farmed" and the wines are produced with old world techniques giving the wines robust flavors. To our delight, the winemaker was in the tasting room and shared his knowledge in an unpretentious, passionate way. It was the best winery experience we have ever had. Each wine was better than the last. We are so happy that we saved the best winery for last! If you have to pick one, choose HILLCREST VINEYARDS!!!

“a great vineyard”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 22, 2011

We went to Hillcrest this weekend and had a great experience. Susan was so sweet. She gave us tons of information about the vineyard and the process it takes to get such a great wine. We will be heading back again when we venture back to southern oregon.

“Little piece of Heaven”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 1, 2007

As we arrived at the vineyard a little bit of fog hugged the ground. The craggy hills loomed in the distance creating a great sense of depth. The sun was bright. Air was crisp and cold. The leaves on the vines were yellow smeared with red.
Dyson greeted us at the door of the tasting room. His friendly smile made me realize that I was in a comfortable place. I could relax and enjoy the experience. He quickly explained the history of the vineyard and started to bring out our selections to taste.
With each selection he explained the concept of making it. You can tell he really loves his job (hobby) of making good wine.
Highly recommended wines!!!
