We had a very pleasant room with a great ocean view, plenty of room for a kitchen area, dining table and a fireplace. One minor complaint was the lack of pots, pans and utensils, which rendered the kitchen mostly useless for long-distance travelers. We didn't try the pool facilities due to a tight schedule and bad weather, but the beach access was great.
Unfortunately, our 2-night visit was virtually spoiled by a lack of sleep due to the most uncomfortable bed we've ever encountered. It was literally rock hard and just lumpy enough to add a few extra pressure points. I took the cushions off of the little sofa and slept on the floor the first night, leaving the bed to my wife. We asked for extra pillows the second night, which helped a little, but not enough. We were in town for a busy meeting, and we had paid up front, so we elected to tough it out rather than trying to find an alternative.

Room Tip: Check the bed first! Housekeeping said some are better, but complaints are common.

Hello,

Sorry to hear about the discomfort you experienced during your stay. All of our mattresses were changed out within the past 3-4 years. If you could e-mail us with the room number in which you stayed we would be more than happy to check on that specific mattress. If you could e-mail or call us we would be more than happy to assist you with your future visits. Thank you so much again for your stay with us.

We have stayed at quite a few hotel/motels and vacation rentals on the Oregon Coast and this one gives a little more for the price than others of it's type. Be sure and check their web-site for their 20% off coupon! The 1 Q room with a fully stocked kitchen and a large bathroom was very clean, maybe a little beat-up but not wore-out...The man at the desk was quick and efficient, also had Halloween candy for us:0).On the beach oceanfront with the private deck was perfect. There is a pool but as our reason for being there was to use it as a base for hiking the trails we didn't have the time to enjoy it...Oh and I cant' forget the gas fireplace; perfect after being out all day!

Room Tip: We had a room on the top floor corner of building A which provided a front and side view of the ocea...

We've stayed in the oceanfront rooms on several occasions and once in a non-view room. Our daughter appreciates the pool and we like the hottub, even if you have to run across the parking lot to get there. The rooms are adequately furnished and the location outstanding. Being able to take the family dogs is also a plus, and they like hanging out on the balcony when we're in the room. It couldn't be much closer to the beach, and we enjoy the sound and smell all the more by often keeping the door to the balcony open. I'd definitely go for the oceanfront rooms, which don't cost that much more. In general, I don't see much point in going to the beach if you can't enjoy the view.

Room Tip: Definitely go oceanfront, 2nd level best, away from the staircase might be quieter.

Sigh, i hate writing bad reviews. This place was terrible. The room was $78.00 a night, so i didnt go in with high expectations, i just wanted to stay somewhere on the beach, which was beautiful. Walking into our room the door opens up and almost hits the bed. The room is very small, my husband and I had to take turns on passing in the bathroom hallway. In order to get into our room, you have to open the door and step into the bathroom almost, turn around and the close the door, and only then can you get to your bed. Right outside out window is a giant propane tank. They allow fire on the beach. All it takes is one idiot and we are toast. The walls are very thin, we heard a fellow guests TV all night. The bed was terribly uncomfortable and small. The comforter was thin and we quite cold all night, also the pillows have had one to many heads lay on it. They were so thin it was like cuddling up with a hoodie bunched into a ball. It was a scary night. Hearing people talk, and do "other things"...(hint hint) Sleeping next to a propane tank, doors slamming. It wasnt the greatest night sleep. You get what you pay for.

Liked our ocean front studio very much, particularly because our two corgis could come with us. The gas fireplace and balcony were nice, and the kitchen was fine. Definitely a stereotypical motel here, but it's clean and it's a great location. Pets are $10/night each, extra, with a limit of two.

My only petty complaint is that cooking *anything* in the kitchen resulted in the fire alarm going off - very annoying.

This was our first stay at this resort. Although the furnishings are not new and shiny every thing was clean and the bed was comfortable. I was being economical and stayed in the "Ocean view" rooms. We did see a slice of ocean and were able to hear it but next time I will pay the extra for the ocean front. I was surprised by how spacious the rooms were. Having a kitchen with a refrigerator and every thing I would need to make a simple meal made our stay very relaxing. Our dog loved it too. There were alot of dogs there the weekend we went but all of them behaved well and there was not much barking.

My only complaint was with the shower. The management really does need to invest in a new shower head. I felt like it was spitting at me. The ceiling probably got wetter than I did. A small detail in comparison with a truly nice weekend for at a good value price.

We've gone to Oregon every 4 to 6 years for many years. SurfSide
Makes you feel comfortable, relaxed and enjoyable. The indoor pool is great for the Grandkids to ware themselves out after a great day
playing on the beach which is just outside your door. Sleeping to the
sound of the ocean is a ++. They kept our rooms clean and neat and
The fireplace just added to the whole experi'ence.

We'll keep coming back. It's always been nice.

Room Tip: Ask for the corner top floor rooms. Lots more view for the buck
